Hal le leu jah!!!
Well Good Morning
Sweet Friends,
Can you hear it???
If you have followed me long,
you probably know why we
are singing that chorus all the
way over here in Florida!!
Guess what???
Hubby started a new job this morning!!
It has been a bittersweet morning, so strange to be sending
him off to work and sort of mourning that this time is over,
because it was like being retired, yet so excited and happy
to have the new job, especially since the Lord told us back
the end of March that we were to pay for our daughter's
upcoming October Wedding
and
since hubby had been laid off for10 months at that time, and
we were saying.......
HOW, Lord???
God always makes good on what He tells you to do!!
So we are beyond thrilled at his answer (and I think Dee
and Jerry might be even happier than us because they were
concerned about us doing this) .We are incredibly grateful for
all the ways God has.... and continues to provide for us!
He truly never ceases to amaze us...............
Sorry I haven't told you about it before now, but we had
a lil situation going on that had us concerned. The night before
( May31st.) they offered him the job, we had eaten a salad with
Poppy Seed Dressing, and then they called the very next day (June 1.)
and he accepted the job, which of course, then started background
checks, and financial checks, and the TEST, you know the one...
the go in the cup test! I am not calling it what it is, because I don't
want my blog to pop up every time someone types that
in the search engine! lol
Anyway, in case you never knew, poppy seeds can throw that
test off, so by the evening of June 1st, our excitement over the
JOB to our horror, now became WORRY over the TEST,
as we remembered the salad the nite before!!
Interestingly, we had joked about that very thing weeks
before saying that would be great, get a job and then
have a glitch in the test cause of this dressing!! ha ha
Never had the slightest thought about it while we were
eating it........................Amazing!!
Anyway, by that night, we realized this was probably
just something else the enemy threw at us to try and
dampen the Joy of the whole thing, and that it was
just another opportunity to trust the Lord with it.
So we commenced praying , telling the Lord that whatever
He wants is what we want, if it is the job fine, if it isn't
we are okay, we willl surely be disappointed if it isn't
but, we will live! Amazing the peace that comes when
we get our hands off of it!!
In our hearts we really felt the Lord was saying yes, to this job,
but you know, we have been tested on God's sovereignty before,
another time years ago when he was laid off, hubby was offered
a job, his first offer as a matter of fact, and we believed it was a
test.....and he had to turn it down because of what the company
produced, so we just weren't totally sure what the Lord's will
was yet.............so thought it best not to drag
your emotions all over the place.
Want to thank all of you who have prayed for us during this
time of layoff and also for this job!! You will never know
this side of Heaven, just how much it has meant to us
and how much good your prayers produced in us!!
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!!
So.... I am glad I have a Wedding to plan cause that
will keep me busy as I readjust to the quiet here, course,
I don't really mind quiet at all. You can hear the Lord's
voice clearer in the quiet!! Like He says "Be still and
Know that I am God!!
Thanks for stopping by and
sharing in our Good News!
May you have a
Tremendously Blessed Tuesday,
Love and Hugs,
Nellie
P.S. Bonnie if you missed the Wedding Pics

I CAN "hear" you, Nellie! Funny story about the poppy seed dressing. Praising God with you. This whole thing has been quite a faith builder for all of us who have prayed and watched God carry you through this difficult time. You have honored Him here by your consistent statements of trust and thanksgiving.
ReplyDelete♫ Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen!♫
Oh, Nellie, I am SO excited for you and Jim!!! Rejoicing with you!!
ReplyDeleteAnd, yes, I knew about the poppy seed dressing. SOOO glad it didn't turn out to be an issue.
Praying God very soon has a job for Gary...in Florida. I would LOVE to live nearby so that I can visit with you more often. Spending that afternoon with you and Jim, and enjoying your gracious hospitality, was such a huge blessing. I NEED you in my life on a regular basis.
Love,
Patti
Woo Hoo! I picked a good day to try to get back to blogging. I've been away because of all of the family stuff, but I've missed blogging so much. I'm more than thrilled for you both, I'm grinning from ear to ear! I'm sure it will be an adjustment for both of you...but a good one. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteNellie,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy that your hubby finally got a job! I know how excited we were when Cade finally got his job-it is such a relief and answered prayer. It is a sure testing of faith to wait and be patient, but I love how you can always see how God works in "mysterious ways," and see His hand in EVERYTHING! Good luck planning your daughters wedding, what fun!=-)
