Happy Monday Sweet Folks,
So.........
How was your weekend????
Busy? Fun? Uneventful? Productive?
or a lil bit of all of these???
Our weekend was a lil bit of all of these really. Hubby had
some work to do for his old job on Friday and wound up
working into the evening, cause it was sort of an emergency
situation, and he wanted to get it over with, so we could
enjoy the rest of the weekend. We did get to watch a
really good movie called "Invictus" about Nelson Mandela
and the way he promoted the sport Rugby to bring solidarity
and comraderie to his nation of S. Africa. It was really
quite a good movie. Morgan Freeman played his role.
Saturday we went to Walmart and had the oil changed
in my car, which was a much needed thing, and while
there hubby finally used his birthday gift card from
my daughter, to buy a hedge trimmer attachment for
his ryobi.
On Wed. when he went out to lunch with his old boss,
and he happened to see a guy using one somewhere,
and was amazed at how well it worked, so was saying
I think I would like one of those things.
So Wally World had one, and we got it and did do a lil
work in the backyard with it, and what we did looks
great already, and we did a fairly good size area......
and trimming and clean up all took about 20 mins.,
so we were very happy about that!! We would have
done more but by the time we got back from WW
and he set it up it was about to get dark!! lol
Any thing we can do to my yard work quicker and
make the yard look great at the same time, sure
does work of us!! lol
This has a photoshop affect on it!!
Church was great on Sunday, we had 2 missionaries
from Miami, cause it is such a multicultural area,
and our church is teaming up with them to try and
help them in different ways.
They were both great speakers and it was all very
interesting. We lived in Miami and Fort lauderdale
area in the early years of our marriage, so we kind
of know some of the history and cultural situations
they have there, so that made it even more
interesting to us I am sure!
Then Sunday afternoon, Scott and Megan came
over , and we had a simple din din of Rotini pie,
salad, and cheesecake along with a really fun
visit. Scott brought his sprayer to spray our
yard but it was just too dry. We so need rain!!
Hope we want have to have a tropical storm
or hurricane to get it though!! Shudder, at the
mere thought of it!!
Sometime soon I will have to share our story
of 3 hurricanes in one year, one every 2 weeks.
I hope I never live long enough to see another
hurricane season like that one,
is all I can say!! lol
Well, time to quit.......................
Thanks for coming by,
and for all your wonderful comments,
love reading them!
Till next time..........................
Love, Hugs and
Monday Blessings to ya!!

Hi Nellie
ReplyDeleteI am so happy I can comment. It seems that since my work has went to gmail I have to make sure I sign off before I leave or otherwise I cannot comment.
It sounds like you had a nice weekend. We shop too much at Wally World, Not my favorite store but you can't beat their prices.
The flowers are very pretty. I love the soft pink. It is very romantic.
We had a great weekend and I hope to get more pictures posted soon with all my stories.
Blessings & Love
Janet
Sounds like a very enjoyable weekend Nellie, your rose is beautiful, my favorite flower. I hope you never have to experience hurricanes of any kind, especially back to back. Enjoy your week, as always such a blessing to visit with you.

There's not much left of my yard with this drought, unless you want to consider weeds! How come those things can survive and not your "nice" plants? Ha!
ReplyDeleteSomething (Someone!) tells me we may be in for another hurricane season. With the record breaking heat, it will definately be heating up the waters around us. That seems to be what attracts the low pressures of the hurricanes!
During the last three hurricanes, I had my three bird's cages, three dogs, and my cat in the inner kitchen room! I would now have to add Xena (another dog!) I guess this is the reason all of our insurances are going sky high! GEICO added hurricane onto their policy. I called them about my car being in the garage and covered under my house insurance, but they would not change it. I was able to get back the increase they charged at the beginning of the year since I am now retired. They will probably find something else now to add to it!
The LORD provides! Trust only in Him! I'm committed to Him. I know He is true to His WORD!
Love to you all,
Susan
