My First Mother's Day as a Grammy

Dee took a pic of Me, Megan and Brooklyn on Mother's Day

Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope all you Mom's had a Wonderful
Mother's Day, and if you aren't a Mom
hope you helped your Mom or someone
who is a Mom have a Great Day!

I had a lovely Mother's Day weekend
myself, hubby and I had a fun day on
Sat., he took me shopping for some
clothes,  and I found some cute tops
and a dress. Not sure if I am keeping
them all yet or not....am keeping one
for sure, since I wore it to church on
Sunday. lol  Bought them hoping they
would go with some things I already
had but just haven't really had time
to check it all out yet. We had frozen
yogurt for breakfast at TCBY and
later had a very late lunch or should
I say dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Sunday morning we went to church,
then after we went for frozen yogurt
we got nachos from Taco Bell. That
is fun stuff for us............lol
What can I say, we are simple folks
and easily entertained.......

The whole family arrived in the late
afternoon,  and we had a very nice
and simple dinner.  London Broil,
baked taters, salad and rolls,  and
we got a peanut butter silk pie from
Perkins.  Have you ever had that??
UMMM... they are awesome, if you
have never had one... next holiday
or celebration try one,  you want
be sorry................

We all had a good time just yakking
and eating, and our new entertain-
ment is watching and fussing over
Miss Brooklyn, of course, she was
10 weeks old yesterday. Hubby
and watched her last night, so her
parents could celebrate their 2nd
anniversary. We sure enjoy
 watching and loving on her.........

Want to show you a few shots
I think you will get a kick out of.....

No pun intended............lol
She is practicing her power kicking
here, this is a new sport for her.
She is in deep concentration here.
I am gonna get that yellow thing
whatever it is..............

and she did actually
kick that lil yellow birdie hanging
there a few times, can you see the
look of satisfaction on her lil
face. lol ......Look I can do this.......

For awhile now she was working on
balance and getting rid of her fear of
her arms being too far from her body.

See how well I can balance
Having my arms stretched out can be
a scary thing at times. Not so sure
I really like this stuff..............

and then funniest of all,  my SIL
Susan was holding her up, and just
by accident her head lined up per-
fectly with Brooklyn's.......we just
about died laughing when we saw
the picture...................

Wow, a full head of hair!

Isn't that a riot...........
Hope it puts a smile on your
face, it sure did ours.....

Well, guess I had better get
busy doing something, and
make myself useful.....lol

Hope you have a good rest
of the week........

Hugs and
Post Mother's Day Blessings,

Nellie

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - May 9, 2013, and Happy Mother's Day!

And why do you worry about clothes?
See how the lilies of the field grow.
They do not labor or spin.
Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these.
Matthew 6:28-29

Morning Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a really great

week,  and that you have experienced
the glorious weather at your house that
we are having here.  I know some of
you are, as you have left comments
to say so.................so hope the
the rest of you are too!

I am gonna let the post speak for itself, as I am

anxious to get outside and sit on the porch and
do my devotional reading............

but before that.......

just want to say
Happy Mother's Day to all you dear sweet
giving and loving Mom's.  Hope you just have
the Sweetest Day,  and that your families
spoil you really good!  lol

May the Lord continue to Bless you in your

endeavors to be the best Mom you can be,
and May your husband and children praise
you and  rise up and call you Blessed
 as in Proverbs 31:28.
Again have a lovely Mother's Day!

Flowers for you!

With that said........

now on with Thankful Thursday

#1
I am thankful
today is my blogging anniversary of 4
years, and I have really enjoyed doing

meeting so many of you sweet friends.
You are all such a wonderful group of
ladies, I have learned oddles of stuff
from you, been encouraged, inspired,
prayed for, blessed and just so happy
to know you all.............
So thanks to all of you who have
helped make my blogging experience
so wonderful............

I am thankful
that we found out some interesting news
this week.  Remember our car died back
the end of February, I think it was......and
since having it fixed with no guarantees,
and that we had already sunk over $1,000
into it just 6 months before,we decided it
would be more cost affective to buy more
dependable car that would be cheaper on gas,
since my hubby has a  bit of a commute to
work. so our mechanic was going to dispose
of it, then somehow he found a wrecked car
that had a fairly new engine with no damage
to it, so he decided to fix it, so we found
out that one the kids in our church had been
saving his money and bought it, and we are
so happy about that cause he is a great kid.
We thought this was such a neat story of
how God works all things together for good
for those who love the Lord.  We wound up
getting a newer more reliable car with much
better gas mileage plus a raise to pay 2/3
of it, plus what we save on gas completely
covers the car payment, our mechanic did
the work on the car and was able to sell it to
this sweet young man,  so the Lord blessed
about 7 or more people with one situation
with one car.  amazing!  and we all go to
the same church.
I thought that was very cool.......

I am thankful
and overjoyed to hear the news about
those 3 girls, Amanda Berry, michele Knight,
and Gina DeJesus and who had been missing
for 10 years have been found. So good to hear
they have been returned to their loved ones.
Such great news!

#4

I am thankful
that heaven changes everything.  I saw a
book by that title last night, written by the
Burpo's, who also wrote "Heaven is for real".
A great book by the way.  Anyway, Got to
thinking about that title and just how true
that really is..........because when we have
a relationship with Jesus and know that our
final destination is heaven when we leave
this earth, there is nothing you can miss out
on, or do... that can ever top heaven.
So no need for a bucket list!  lol
It also means that those who have gone onto
heaven before you, that you maybe did not
have great relationships with here, well, those
relationships will be perfect in heaven. Isn't
that a comforting thought, and then there
are the ones you love and miss so much,
what a great reunion to look forward to...
and
Best of all, It means we don't have to worry
or fear death cause our spirit will never die,
because Jesus died to give us eternal life, as
the Bible say "to be absent from the body, is
to be present with the Lord,(2 Corinthians 5:8)
and
bet I could come up with way more things to
say if I think more about it, but I want.........
for now anyway.  lol

#5
I am thankful
that our neighbors had a garage sale last
weekend.  They are a very sweet young
couple who have small children.  He came
over to tell us they were having a garage
sale and that they had lots of baby stuff,
just in case we might be interested, since
they know we have a new grandbaby.

So went over to check it out and we got a
very nice carseat that was practically new,
a boppee pillow, about 15 outfits that are
in mint condition, 2 pr. of adorable shoes,
some bibs, hats, leotards, and baby toys,a
washable fabric book for baby, and a Jesus
calling book (that is worth $14 at walmart)
 all for $50.00.
So we were happy campers!! I meant to take
a few pics before I gave them to Megan, so
you could see all that cuteness, but forgot!
story of my life these days!!   lol

#6
I am thankful
for these pretty calla lilies you see
pictured here....hubby saw them at
Sam's and brought them to me, just
to be sweet.............
I think calla lilies are just so neat,
they are sort of a sophisticated
looking flowers, don't you think??

#7

I am thankful
for the new Mother in our family
this year.....and that would be Megan.
She is a wonderful Mom and doing such
a great job with our sweet new lil grand-
daughter who just turned 9 weeks old
on Monday.  We are very proud of her,
and pray the Lord blesses each and
every sacrifice she makes, and every
blessing that she gives to Brooklyn
and Scott.  Love you honey!

#8

I am thankful
for a lovely night out with my hubby
last night.  We went shopping and out
to dinner at Olive Garden.  I have been
craving chicken marsala, and have left-
overs so get to have it for dinner again
tonight.  works for me!!  lol

Paint daubs affect

#9

I am thankful
for my back porch and yard, as it
has really been a joy sitting out there
this week.........and really anytime the
weather is nice.  Just adds so much
joy and fun to my life.  It is a great
place of contemplation for me.

#10

I am thankful
for "To Do" lists, cause they keep me
on track and I accomplish so much more
when I have one, otherwise, I can sort
of wonder around aimlessly thinking I
know there is something I should be
doing but what???  lol

#11

I am thankful
for all the decorations that I have to make
my home look warm, cozy and inviting.
I think they are just one thing that helps

to tranform a house into a home..........
I sort of consider them the jewels of the
home, like jewelry you would wear to
enhance an outfit................and I just
love playing with them, and making
things pretty!!

For me, the other things are putting God
first place in our lives, then love and grate-
fulness for each family member, and then
good positive attitudes towards life and
others, being good stewards of what God
has given us, by cleaning and taking care
of it, and being careful what we put into
our lives via television, computer, books
and magazines.  Garbage in....Garbage
out............and if I continued to think
about it,  I am sure I could come up with
some more........but since I want to post
this soon, I will refrain. lol

#12
I am thankful
I found a fairly new pair of shorts in my
drawer that I had completely forgotten
about..........love when that happens,
a little like finding buried treasure.  lol

Well, there it is for another week....

Thanks so must for your visit today,
it is always good to hear from you.

Hope you have a Spring Glorious
Mother's Day Weekend!

Love, Hugs,and
Mother's Day Blessings Galore,

Nellie

Miniature Flea market

Morning Sweet Friends,
Well, actually it is afternoon
 now.....lol

So....how in the world are you??
Are you finer than frog hair??
 Hope so!! lol

It has been the most glorious weather here
the last 3 days. Balmy, Breezy 78-80 degree
temps. here in Florida, so I have been taking
full advantage of it.  Sitting on the porch reading
and swinging, working in the yard some,  and
sitting in the sun and planning where to cut what,
when we work outside again!  lol  I have to say
it is hard making myself stay inside.........
These are very rare days this time of year
here in the sunshine state, so you gotta enjoy
them while you can..........lol

There is a very sweet, creative and talented
blogger friend, I have been wanting to tell yall
about in case you don't already know her and
enjoy her blog.

Her name is Caroline from over at "Cinderella
Moments".  She makes these wonderfully unique
and creative dollhouses, and each one is so special
and charming. She does amazingly beautiful work,
and the detail she puts into them just astound me.
(Note my header picture - just one of many of
 her sweet creations)
every time you think they can't get any better
they do........... Such fun eye candy and I just
love miniature things, they just delight me so.

She also gives tutorials and has a book she has
written about how to make your own FairlyTale
cottage,  and she also has an etsy shoppe where
she sells these amazing creations, and other
tiny things to decorate them with.

She was just contacted a few weeks ago by the
New York Times, because they want to do a story
on her "Shabby Chic dollhouse" that was fashioned
after a real house by Sandy over at
"My Shabby streamside studio"
She has been working on another Shabby
Chic dollhouse to send to the New York Times
for them to photograph.  I am very excited
for this sweet blog friend, as she certainly
deserves the recognition.

so you just gotta go see it for yourself by

Just to wet you appetite this is just a we bit
of what you will see there.......

Shabby Chic Dollhouse

and here is the address of her blog.
So be sure to check her out,  I can promise
you want be sorry................

and oh yea, if you happen to live in North
Texas and need a realtor,  check out her
side bar, as she is a new realtor as well.
and If I was a betting woman, which I am
not, I would bet she is quite a realtor,
cause she has that eye for detail, as
well as a warm and friendly personailty.

Thanks for stopping by today,  and
hope you take the time to say hello.
I always enjoy that!

Have a Lovely Day!

Hugs n' Blessings,
Nellie

#1
I am thankful
that I got to start the day off with a visit from
a sweet friend coming over for breakfast.

#2
I am thankful
that my SIL got resolution on a situation that
has been going on for quite awhile now,  and
also for the ways the Lord protected her and
watched out for her needs.

#3
I am thankful
that our china hutch disaster did not produce
disasterorus results.  As I am still amazed by
it all,  and really do not remember  moving
out of the way.  Think I might have had some
divine help on that.  If you missed that post
and would like to see it,  just click here.

#4
I am thankful
for our new bedroom layout,  we are under
the fan more,  the room looks larger this
way, and it is just a nice refreshing change.

#5
I am thankful
that our room change has not cost us a single
penney so far,  however,  I am looking for
something to go over our bed,  just not sure
what yet...........a simple one piece solution,
is what Dee and I both think is needed.

#6
I am thankful
that Dee is coming over on Friday to do my
hair,  so we will get some one on one time.
Always love that.

#7
I am thankful
that we got to watch Brooklyn twice this
week.  We enjoy her so much,  and she
is just growing like a lil weed.  We have
discovered if she is tired but fighting it,
if we take her outside on the porch swing
she just loves it and goes right off to sleep.

Ohhhh....wonder how these got in here!  lol
Sorry just can't help myself.....

She just loves these lil hanging flowers in her pack n play. She is
81/2 weeks old now.................and has surely run off with her
Grammy and Grampy's hearts right from the start, and it happens
again every time we see her!!

#8
I am thankful
that my friend who got the much need test
done,  got good results,  and that the Dr.
actually took some much needed time to
really talked to her,  and he now things her
adrenals glands may have just shut down.
(That was encouraging to me, as I know
someone else that happened to and they
were able to help her, so was able to pass
that info on to my friend as well)

#9
I am thankful
that today is the National Day of Prayer, and
that our church is having a prayer service tonight.
Every year it seems like the need is even more
needed than ever before.  Am praying for a
good turnout, but of course, we can pray any
time, anywhere,  but think the Lord really loves
when we gather together. Just like the scripture
that says where ever 2 or more are
gathered in my name, I will be in the midst
of them.

#10
I am thankful
that I was able to use Dee and Jerry's steam
mop to clean the tile floors in my bathrooms.
They came out really nice.

#11
I am thankful
that we had leftover paint still for my bed-
room walls,  and we touched them up and
you could never tell we did it,  and the
walls look very fresh and clean.

#12
I am thankful
that I have been finding time to read more,
just by myself.  Hubby and I started reading
together,  so sorta quit reading as much by
myself,  so am back to that,  and then hubby
and I are trying to finish up different books,
that we are partially done reading. Also,
found quite a few books in my armiore when
we were moving things around that we have
not read at all yet. (Had to take all the books
out to be able to move the armiore, so got
rid of a bunch too.)  So it looks nice, clean
and organized now which could be #13.....lol

Well, there you have it..............

Thanks so much for your visit,  they are
always greatly appreciated,  and your
comments greatly anticipated.

I am linking up to Becky over at Timewashed
for Blissful White Wednesday.  Drop by and
check our all those pretty whites by just

Have a Lovely Friday and Weekend,

Till next week,

Love, Hugs, and
 Protective Blessings,
Nellie
