Thankful Thursday May 11, 2017, the last of Spring in the livingroom

 proclaiming aloud your praise and telling
of all your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 26:7

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Bet most of you are having a busy
week gearing up for Mother's Day.

Busy day here....so I am just
gonna get on with my post.......

Pictures are the rest of the story
from our Spring living room.  lol

I am thankful

#1
for a really fun time with our young
marrieds class on Friday night. We
were a small group again,  but that
didn't dampen the fun one bit.
Good food and Good fellowship
and fun games.

#2
for a sweet and reflective time after
attending a funeral on Saturday
afternoon for a 94 yr. old saint
in our church.....what a great send
off for a man with a life well lived.
He and his wife were married for 70
 years, had 8 children, 7 girls and
 1 boy (who passed away a few years
 ago, and was in heaven to greet him),
 26 grandchildren, 20 great grand-
children, and 3 great great grand-
children, and many spiritual
children and folks who loved him.
Really made us think about a
saying that our 80+ Pastor friend
and his wife say...."Make your
last lap your best!!"

#3
for finding a few new things on
the menu at Perkins.  Went there
to get their chicken spinach
quesadillas,  and they had re-
vamped their whole menu,  so
we had to pick something else.
Tried their Sonoma chicken salad
and hubby had their B-B-que
smoked chicken on a open faced
 french roll.....
both were really good.

#4
for a good discussion in Sunday
School about miracles.....that
reminded me of some miracles
I have experienced in my own
life..........always good to look
back on those good things God
has done...........

Oops, a lil Easter leftover.  lol

#5
for a fun time with Scott, Megan
and Brooklyn on Sunday.  We all
played hide and seek outside and
inside with Brooklyn for awhile.
  Had a nice dinner,  then before
 they went home we decided to try
a game of "PIT" cause we thought
 it was something Brooklyn could
 do with us,  so she sat on my lap
and yelled out what I told her and
 we let her ring the bell to start each
 round and, we won 3 times, and she
 was disappointed when we lost,
 but got sooo excited every time
we won.  It was so funny.......

#6
that I only have a few more things
to do in our computer/office room.
Got the skirt put around my work
table finally........and love that it
hides all my supplies that I need
to store.

#7
for seeing a Dove and Squirrel in our
bird bath and then a zebra butterfly
in the Jasmine bushes right behind it,
all within minutes, as I was getting
some sunshine.......lil gifts!

#8
for President Trump's heart for our
our country....and that He signed a bill
 to protect our religious freedoms.

#9
for contact thru email with a long time
friend of 40 years, and hopefully we
will get to talk soon.  The last few
 years they have had so many difficult
 things going on.....so all that had to
have her focus, so we have had very
lil contact other than a short email
here and there.  So glad they are
coming out of the woods.

Made another lil change

#10
that little darling went into our
 bedroom on Sunday afternoon
to get a toy, right when she did.
She went in and when she came
 out, she came right over to me
and said Grammy, something is
 in your room, so I went to see and
jokingly said on the way, thinking
 about the snake I found in my
living room last year....it isn't
moving is it??
and when we walked in, she
pointed towards our bathroom
and it was moving all right,
there was water running every-
where, as the potty overflowed.
Handle stuck for some reason.
Thank the Lord is was all clean
water.......and it didn't get on the
closet carpeting this time, thankful
 for our shop vac.....and especially
 for Brooklyns and hubbies
 quick reactions.

If you would like to see the other posts
from Spring in the Living room....

#11
for the Lord's direction to us
about getting a new refrigerator
 last November...as we put our
 old one in the garage....and it
died on us Friday, the same day
 we were having the social here,
and altho it was a minor incon-
venience when it died.....it
 would have been a real mess
 had it still been our kitchen
 fridge.

#12
that a situation that arose for
 our daughter, that she was totally
bummed by, turned out to be a
 big misunderstanding, so things
 appear to be fine now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well there you have it.......
this week from Cozy Place.
So happy you could stop by,
and hope you remember a
few things you are thankful
for too..........if so,  why not
share one or two......
It might just encourage some
one else.........
Have a Delightful weekend.
Love, Hugs and
Mid Spring Blessings,
Nellie
Playing.....One centerpiece, 2 tables part 2
Happy Tuesday Sweet Friends,
How was your weekend?
 Busy, restful, fun, relaxing,
 working, constructive or
contemplative?
Think ours was a lil bit of
all of those. You'll read about
it on Thankful Thursday so
will spare you the details
twice.  lol
Nothing exciting going on
today, just doing laundry
and household stuff, which
can be very nice after a busy
spell.............lol
Well, here is my 2nd table with
the same centerpiece.
All I changed was the salad
plate and
the napkin...used green ones.
and added a candle...........
Then did decide to change up the
centerpiece a bit.......and make
it a table for two for hubby
and I for dinner.
With Omni lighting affect for fun
These salad plate flowers look more
 pink than peach in the pictures,
 but they are really pinky peach roses.
Another lil change up.........
Just having fun playing
Added a plate in the center for dipping
 herbs and a cutting board for bread.
Doesn't take a lot of changes to make
another table that looks quite different.
If I added a white, peach or green
 tablecloth it would go from
 casual to dressy..............
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thanks for your visit and hope
you got an idea or two......

If you missed part 1 and would
like to see it,  click here.

Love, Hugs and
Pretty Table Blessings,

Nellie

P.S. I just realized I missed my
blogaversary.....
It was on May 4th, 2009,
so I have been blogging for
8 years, can hardly believe it.
So to celebrate I decided to
post my very first blog post,
 up in the right hand column
where it says featured post.
It is called, "Welcome....let's talk
 about Serendipity" just in case
 you might like to read it.........

Thoughts to Ponder - what money can buy

Glorious Sunday Morning
To you
Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you doing well this
lovely Sunday Morning.

Happened to run across this list of
what Money can buy and decided
 to share it here.

What Money Can Buy

Money will Buy:

A bed BUT NOT Sleep
Books BUT NOT brains
Food BUT NOT an appetite
Finery BUT NOT beauty
A house BUT NOT a home
Medicine BUT NOT health
Luxuries BUT NOT culture
Amusement BUT NOT happiness
A crucifix BUT NOT a saviour
A church pew BUT NOT heaven

What money can't buy
Jesus
 can give freely without charge.

Have to say I have found that this
 is so true
and sure hope that you have too.

John 14:6
Jesus Answered,  I am the way, the truth
and the Life.  No one comes unto the
Father
except through me.

So if you are searching.....
 for true Love and Joy....
JESUS is your man, God/Man that is
Fully God (Divine just like God and
Fully Man (Human just like us)
Only HE never sinned or did anything
wrong.......that is what qualifies Him
to be the saviour of the World.

Happy Pondering!

Love and Blessings,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday May 4, 2017, Spring in the Living room

But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.  Spread your
protection over them, that those who love
your name may rejoice in you.
Psalm 5:12

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you have had a really Super

week.  Anybody else been Spring
Cleaning or Decluttering??

I have had a Super Constructive
week doing all of the above!!
Course, had a break yesterday
while lil darling was here, and
we had a fun day as always.
Then it was back to cleaning
today.  I want everything done
today, so I can just relax and
do food tomorrow. Nothing
fancy, am thinking nachos or
Mexican Fried Ice Cream.
Gotta decide soon, so I can
get the ingredients....lol

Happy Cinco De Mayo,
we don't celebrate that typically
 but since we were having a fun Spring
 get together on that night thought it
 would be a fun theme.

All Pictures are of our Living room
Etagere' styled for Spring......

So on with it..................

I am thankful

#1
for a really fun day out on Saturday,
getting our cars serviced, while watch-
ing movies at the dealership, a smoothie,
shopping and actually finding something
 to wear that I really liked, and going to
dinner at Red Lobster.

 #2
that our cars are all taken care of and
in good shape for another 6 months.

#3
that we finally ordered our dishwasher.....
we finally found one in Biscuit color, and
hoping it is a good one,  it had 41/2 stars
on a number of websites, so sounds good,
 Unfortunately, it want arrive until the end
of May.  Have to say that was a bit of a
bummer....after trying to find one for around
2 yrs or more, and I am way passed ready to
 get that baby but at least we want have to
 do anything to change the color, so that
is great, and I am very excited about it.

#4
that our computer room has come a long
way since last Thursday,  still have some
finishing touches and a few organizational
things to come in that I ordered before I
can show yall.  Everytime we walk in
here we just can't believe the difference.
You have no idea how long I have just
been stymied by this room, just not
knowing what to do with it.

With Paint daubs affect

#5
that I got all my Easter decor all packed
 up and the guest bedroom almost back to
 normal. Have some more to do in there
as well, but it is coming............

Polar Coordinates affect,  I call it my Alice in
Wonderland affect...............

#6
for decluttering!!
 As I have been working in both the
 computer room and the guest bedroom
 I have been getting rid of things, which
I found out is also perfect timing, as our
church will be having a rummage sale
soon to raise money for a missions trip.
So that is a win/win!!

Feeling so much lighter!  lol

Altho the Fleuriste sign looked great,
as well as dramatic......
  but decided this pic below looked
more Springy..............

#7
that we woke up to rain on Tuesday
 Morning. We were in grave need of it....
so it was a very welcome sight.
Everything smells so fresh too.
Supposed to get more on Friday
and Saturday and sure hope we do.

#8
that Scott, Megan and lil darling
got to go see Dee and Jerry, and
had a good time and a safe trip
there and back.

#9
that my 2 organizational pieces
 came in early..... so have that all
 squared away now, and it looks
so much nicer.

#10
for all the People, Books, Sunday
School classes and Sermons that
 have helped me along the way as a
 Christian, Wife, Mother and Home-
maker.  Recently had a situation that
really made me think about that, so
am very grateful for them all.

#11
for a fun game called "Catch Phrase".
We haven't played it in at least 12-15
 years, but it is a really fun game and
 a great party game. Hubby and I got it
out this week to prepare for our get
together here on Friday night, so we
did about 4 rounds just the 2 of us
 and had a blast!!

#12
for a nice long phone chat with my
 girl today on my blue tooth headset.....
while cleaning my kitchen counters.
Next best thing to spending the day
together in real life, and made the
cleaning more fun...........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for taking the time to drop by
and hope you will take the time to
just say Hello... or share something
you are thankful for...........
Have a Super Enjoyable Day and
weekend with those you hold dear.
Love, Hugs and
Spring Blessings,
Nellie
Playing..........one centerpiece 2 tables, part 1
Hello Sweet Friends,
Hope this finds you doing well.........
and maybe accomplishing something
you are excited about.....
I am doing well and have been working
hard over here and having such a good
time doing it......accomplishing a lot
and really loving that.... in our office/
computer room and guest bedroom.
Still more to go...which is fine, as
long as I am making progress....
I am happy..............
After Easter I had these flowers left
 over from our Easter table...........
and these peachy pink goblets that
 I had asked my SIL Susan, to loan
us for our Easter table, (and that
she so graciously gave me.....
Thanks  Susan!)
They didn't wind up working out
for the Easter Table............
So the day after Easter I felt like
playing so since I had the flowers
and the glasses, decided to see
what sort of table I could come up
with,  just for the fun of it, and for
future reference. and hubby and
I always enjoy using the table
for din din................
The green placemats were already out
 from use on our Easter Table,
So went after these napkins that I
have had forever,  but that I love.....
they are multicolor florals and I can
use them with different colors
 depending on which way I fold them.
  I have used them with purple/
 lavendar, green, pink, and with the
 peach like you see here.
Then used my white corelle dishes.
I have to say I love corelle ware,
 they are so light and durable, and
I use them as my everyday dishes.
Disclaimer......I get no profit in any
 way from Corelle or anyone else for
 my review of Corelle dishes,
 I just love them, and think others
 might too.
They came with a dinner plate,
salad/cereal bowls and
bread and butter/appetizer plates.
By accident my daughter and I
stumbled onto some square salad
plates with rounded corner at the
Christmas tree store for $1. each
and they looked so much like
corelle ware, so I bought those
so now I have salad bowls or
plates whichever I prefer.
This was done on our kitchen table,
 where we eat most of our meals
 when it is just us.
Carnations are always a great
 flower to use as they last a long
 time, especially if you use a
flower preservative packet.
That is a bread basket in the
center of the table,  in case
you can't tell.........lol
Thanks for coming by today,  and
 hope you were inspired to make
your dinner hour....
a little more special.
Have a really lovely week.
Love, Hugs and
Happy May Blessings,
Nellie
Happy Loyalty Day!
Happy Loyalty Day
Sweet Friends.
In case you haven't heard about it.
This is what it is..........
President Trump released a statement
on Friday declaring today May 1st as
Loyalty Day
as a way to "recognize and reaffirm our
allegiance to the principles upon which
America was built, calling on all Gov't
buildings to display the U.S. Flag and
for schools to observe the holiday with
ceremonies.
The proclamation reads, "The United
States stands are the World's leader in
upholding the ideals of freedom, equality
and Justice.  Together, and with these
fundamanetal concepts enshrined in our
Constitution, our Nation perseveres in
the face of those who would seek to harm
it."
The proclamation goes on to say that in
order to express our country's loyalty to
"individual liberties, to limited gov't,
and to inherent dignity of every human
being, May 1st  will be known as
"Loyalty Day"
(information from the Presidential
Prayer Team)
May God Continue to Bless America.
Hugs, Nellie
