Happy Monday Sweet Friends,

(Artist Garden by Monet)

HAPPY MONDAY SWEET FRIENDS
*
JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO AND
HOPE YOU HAD A VERY NICE WEEKEND!
*
OURS WAS GOOD,  WE GOT OUT OF THE
HOUSE AND EVEN WENT TO OLIVE GARDEN,
THANKS TO A GIFT CERTIFICATE OUR
DAUGHTER GAVE US FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY
SOME MONTHS BACK, SO WE HAD A  LOVELY
DINNER AND A NICE DAY OUT.
*
SUNDAY WAS A GREAT DAY AS WELL.
*
NOTICE THAT I AM TYPING IN ALL CAPS,
THAT IS BECAUSE IT IS MUCH EASIER FOR
ME TO TYPE WITH MY LEFT HAND, AND
 WHY AM I TYPING LEFTHANDEDLY???
*
I AM HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH A
PINCHED NERVE ON THE RIGHT SIDE SO
TYPING WITH THAT HAND MAKES IT
MUCH WORSE.  SO IF YOU DON'T HEAR
FROM ME MUCH THIS WEEK, THAT WILL
BE THE REASON.  I AM READING YOUR
BLOGS AND IF I DO LEAVE A COMMENT
YOU WILL NOTICE IT IS A LOT BRIEFER
THAN USUAL PROBABLY. LOL
*
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A
 WONDERFULLY BLESSED WEEK,
*

Have A Seeking Sunday!

+
Lovely Sunday Morning toYou,
Sweet Encouragers!!
+
It is late so I shall just leave you with a scripture
that I think is really neat!
+
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe
that he exists and that he rewards those who
earnestly seek him.
+
Have a Seeking Sunday,
and Forever!!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - June 10, 2010

*
Greetings Sweet Encouragers,
*
How has your week been going??
*
Hope today finds you well,
hopeful, and thankful!!
*
Can't believe it is Thursday again
already!  I am telling you these days
are just clicking off at a rapid pace.
Do you feel that way too??
 or is it just me??
*
Anyway...........
Welcome to Thankful Thursday!
*
We have been spending a lot of time working
in the yard this week so guess my
#1

I am thankful
would be for all the work we are getting done
around here in the yard.  It is looking better
all the time and we are enjoying working
out there together.
*

#2
I am thankful
for the pastor that I found in Jacksonville that was
more than happy to go see my neighbor Deanna
and her daughter Aly at the hospital.  What a sweet,
warm and friendly man he is,  and it was interesting
that he has actually been in that same Rehab hospital.
The Lord knew just what Pastor to pick.
*
#3
I am thankful
for my Drs. and for all the medical community
that takes care of us and help us.  I do not
know how they do what they do sometimes,
but I am so thankful they do.  I think so many
times of our emergency workers and the
awful things they have to see and deal with
and my hat is so off to them,  they are truly
unsung heros.
*
#4
I am thankful
our daughter Dee came by unexpectedly
just to hang out and talk awhile.
She really cracks us up sometimes.
She is also the reason my post is so late,
it was pretty much ready, but forgot
to post it before she came.
Her visit trumped my #4 thankful I
had before!! lol
*

(Lil cardinal sitting on our lattice fence)
*
#5
I am thankful
that God is keeping our minds stayed
on Him,  which like the bible says
keeps us in perfect peace,  so that
we are able to really enjoy this time.
*
#6
I am thankful
to have heard from my friend Diane that I
have been friends with for over 38 years.
It has been about a year since we have
been in touch. She used to email from work
but went home to babysit her grandchildren
and hasn't had email until now,  so what a
sweet surprise to find an email from her.
*

(If you click on the pic and look closely you will see the
hubby watching vigil over his wifey as she is bathing)
*
#7
I am thankful
that I know who holds my future.  I have
no idea what the future holds,  but I do
know that God holds my future and that
He is trustworthy!
*
#8
I am thankful
for Tilapia,  a mild fish that is reasonably priced.
I am really not a big fish eater and it is not the best
fish to eat heart healthy wise (heart healthy fish is
salmon, sardines and anchovies,  of which I like none)
but it beats eating beef and I can say
 I really like it!!  lol
*
#9
I am thankful
for these delicious crackers we found at Sams
on Tuesday.  Our friends told us about them
last Sunday,  and they are absolutely delish.
And Heather if you are reading they are
gluten free.
*

*
#10
I am thankful
for all our lil woodland friends that visit
our backyard as they bring us so much
enjoyment and fun watching them.
*

(Sweet lil squirrel eating something, probably a mushroom)
*
#11
I am thankful
that I don't go to bed every night  wondering
if I will have food to eat tomorrow.  There are
many in our world who do.........I am reminded
of a story I read about starving children that
were put into an orphanage and were having
trouble sleeping until someone had the idea
to give them a piece of bread to hold before
they went to sleep,  and that cured their
sleeping  problem. They could  finally go
to sleep without worry of having no food
the next day. We are all so blessed!!
*
#12
 I am thankful
for our cars that get us to where ever we
need to go.  We could have to walk, ride
a bike or the bus, or find a ride with
someone. Again I repeat .....
we are all so blessed!!
*
*
*
Being grateful has a way
 of keeping us Happy!!
*
Please Bless us all
by sharing something you
are thankful for this day!!
*
Love, blessings and hugs

Nellie

God's Cake

Afternoon Sweet Friends,
*
How are ya??  Good I hope!!
*
We have had a productive day today.
We worked out in the yard again.
I am so thrilled  with all the work that
we are getting done,  cause it has
been so needed in some areas.
*
I am getting ready to go make up
some veggies so they will be ready
whenever we want to munch on them.
*
Someone sent me this great email
today and thought I would share it
with you too!!  It is the truth......
and a great analogy.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

God's Cake

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation!

A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.

Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."

"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all yucky!"

To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! "

God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

Crepe Myrtle and Bunny Love

*
Hello Sweetie Peeties,
*
And how are you today???
*
Having a good day I hope.
*
We are fine.........went for my physical,  so far,
so good, but still gotta get bloodwork done.
*
Then we ran to Sam's and look what we
saw in Sam's Parking lot.  Would love
to be able to take one of these trees
home with me!! lol

I just love crepe myrtle trees.
*

I just  love this shot!

Not to much exciting going on here today.
Someone was suppose to come over but they
got a call and have to go to work real
 early.  Oh Well!!
*
We saw this lil brown bunny in our back yard
tonight, for the first time in over 10 years, I'd
say.We used to have them all the time then they
just quit coming,  so that was a fun
sighting for us!
*
Oh the magic of zoom photography - Isn't he
the cutest lil thing!!  He had a white cotton tail
as he hopped away!!

Just wanted to say Hi
and Wish you a Great Evening!

Happy Monday to You!!

*
Happy Monday Sweet Friends,
*
So how was your weekend???
Full of good things I hope......
*
We had a very nice weekend.  We started off
by watching some planet Earth videos for
the 2nd time.  The kids gave them to Jimmy
for this birthday or Father's day last year.
They are so fascinating!!
*
Saturday we went to a  graduation party and
saw a lot of people we have known for years but
don't get to see all that often,  so that was fun!
and of course,  there was great food as well.  Yum!!
Tried to go to another one  for  2 lil gals from our
church but it was held at a Park and we couldn't
get in because there was not enough parking
spaces and there was a long line waiting to go
in,  so we thought,  oh well,  we tried!!
*
After we left the party we ran errands and
had a fun rest of the day.  We made a day
out of it,  and it was good to get out of
house for a while.
*
Sunday we went to church as usual,  and
then some friends wanted to take us out
to lunch at Chili's.  That was a very
sweet and fun surprise,  and we had a
very nice time. Came home and tried to
read the paper but kept falling asleep,
so gave it up and took a nap. When I
got up I was able to call my neighbor
who has the daughter  in the hospital,
that I told you about in Sundays post.
Was able to find her brothers cell phone
number,  so got her number from him
thankfully!!
*
There has been some slight improve-
ment,  but Aly has a long road ahead.
She has already had 3 surgeries, and
they are suppose to transfer her to the
Shriner's hospital in Pa. sometime this
month.  They know no one in Jacksonville
or in Pa. Deanna is just living at the
hospital with her,  she has had to give
 up her job as well.
I am gonna see if I can get ahold of
a Pastor from one of our churches up
in that area to maybe see if they can
send someone to visit them at least.
*
We worked outside bright and early
this morning, from 8- 11:30. Mowing and all,
cause it has been raining in the afternoons.
So it is all done and looks beautifully green
and lush because of all the rain lately.
*
We also did a few other lil projects that
we have been wanting to do,  like drill
a hole in a big pot so we could wrap the
hose in it,  looks so much nicer.
*
Also, moved a lil tree that is in a pot,
by our front door,  but had to find a
saucer to put under it first so it didn't
make a big mess on the porch everytime
I water it.  So liked that too.
*
Put a new hose out we had bought about
a month ago that is guaranteed not to
kink!!  We tried it out and so far so good.
I am so glad the other one finally went,
cause it was a pain in the neck.  lol
*
Weeded the flower bed around the mailbox
and cleaned it up so I can paint the post
 tonight or sometime this week.
*
Then we came in and had a nice lil
lunch of leftover pizza and salad,  cause
we definitely worked up an appetite!!
Took showers and now we are chilling!!  lol
*
Hubby said now I know why retired
people's places always look so perfect
and nice!!  lol   and I said yea, they
have plenty of time to do whatever
they want, nice huh!!  He said yea it is!!
*
Well,  tomorrow I have a Dr. appt. for my
annual physical!!   I just can't wait!!  lol
That was facetious, you know!!
But we must do these things,  actually,
I would rather be drug behind a bus!! lol
Just Kidding!!
That is definitely a lil overstated!! lol
Really,  I am thankful I can go,
that was my ugly alter ego
Ellie talking!!  lol
*
Well,  Sweetie Pies,
thanks for praying for Aly and her Mom,
I told her yall were praying and she was
so happy to hear that.
*
Hope you have a lovely evening and
rest of the day!!
*
Blessings Galore,
Nellie
