Welcome to Thankful Thursday - October 18, 2012

Hello Sweet Peas,

So.............How are you??

Have you wondered where I am??

I hope so........lol

We have been at Dee and Jerry's house since late 

Sunday afternoon,  and just returned last evening.

  Since they were away in Hawaii,  I told you we

might stay a night down there, but it actually 

worked out that we could stay till Wednesday.

It was a fun and exciting weekend I have to say, 

So I will tell you about it in my thankful list.

I am thankful

to finally know what our grandchild is gonna

be, course, we didn't care if it was a boy or girl, 

 just want it to be healthy and happy.  

But see for yourself what it is................

Gonna be a Baby Girl,  and our new

Grandaughter,  can you tell I am excited!

I am thankful

that they did it this way,  as it was a lot of

 fun anticipating and also wonderful to get

to see their faces when they found out.

It was a really precious time and so great that 

they shared it with the whole family like that! 

 Megan is very thoughtful person........and

 so was Scott to go along with it!!  lol

I am thankful

that while we were at the party we got to

see a friend of Scott's, who is like a 2nd son 

to us,  as he used to be here a lot as a young 

boy and teenager, and we hadn't seen him in 

quite a long while.  He always encourages us

 by things he remembers that we have said to

 him over the years.  It always shocks us, but

in a very good way......So touching that we 

had so much of an influence on him. 

Really Blesses our hearts!

I am thankful

for how patient and loving Scott is with

children.  He played with his friends kids

a lil boy that is 8 and a lil girl that is almost

4 most of the time.  They adore him,  and

he them!  He is gonna make a great DAD!

Not biased or anything!!  lol

I am thankful

that they were able to video tape the

event and send it over to Dee and Jerry

in Hawaii,  so they could see the whole

thing since she couldn't be here.

Amazing what you can do today!!

I am thankful

we were able to go stay at Dee and Jerry's

and that hubby was able to take a half day off

 on Monday, on short notice.  He was also able

to work there on Wed. since they have wifi,

and he is closer to work, so not a long drive

for him on Tuesday either.  So that was nice.

I am thankful

we got to go in the pool even tho it wasn't for

too long.........as it was partially cloudy and the

pool was cold,  but we did get a lil time in there

with the sun shining,  so it was nice!

I am thankful

that we got take out the whole time,  so no

cooking,  other than just making toast or re-

heating something.  So it was like a 3 day

vacation for us, just a nice change of pace

and scenery.  Dee is very thoughtful like

that, and so is Jerry for going along with

it...........

Is there an echo in here!!  lol

I am thankful

that I got to go out walking in their lovely

older neighborhood.  The neighborhood is

at least 35 years old,  but I think it might

be older than that,  but you would never

know,  as there are new houses mixed in 

with the older ones and everything is 

immaculate in there.

Truly a visual delight..........thanks to

their Home owners Association.

I am thankful

for the fun of watching HGTV on their cable.

We always enjoy that when we vacation too.

Always a treat since we don't have cable at

home.........and I'm not complaining we like

it that way........as it always gives us 

something to look forward to.................

Dee and Jerry got back yesterday,  safe and

sound,  altho, they were exhausted, they

were home.

I am thankful 

for these cute lil starfish dishes she brought

me,  they are so adorable. See them below.

They brought her Dad Kona Coffee, his fav!

So he was making coffee last night!!  lol

They are all the same size........this pic sort of makes 

them lookgraduated in size.

Aren't they adorable,  can't wait till next Summer

to use them in a tablescape.  Might just have to

mix them in with my Fall decor here somewhere

in the meantime.

I am thankful

that I returned refreshed and renewed and rested

and ready to go,  as soon as I straightened up

the house I cleaned the porch as it was in sore

need of it again.  Looks so much better!

If we could just keep these dratted racoons off

our porch,  they leave dirty footprints and hand

prints all over the place.  Annoying!!  lol

Well,  that is my list for the week,  hope you

enjoyed it..........I sure did!!

Not quite in the same way I am sure!!  lol

for a nice sunny day, with no rain for a change,
and a fun day out by myself.

I am thankful

for the fun of buying my first gift for my grand-

baby that is on the way.  We still don't know

if it is a girl or boy,  but we will be finding out

on Saturday at their gender party.

So Excited!!

I am thankful

that Dee and Jerry got to Hawaii safe and

sound for his sister's destination wedding.
and thankful we got to see them before 
they left, and also that we got to keep
Rosie...................lol

that we are gonna spend a night at their
 house maybe just as a get away for us. 
 They were so sweet to offer that.

for some new leaf embellishments that I

found today that gave me a great idea for

redoing a hubby card I made years back,

it will be so cute with these.

I am thankful

that I have learned some new stuff this

week on my new card program.  It just

has so many great features,  but takes

awhile to learn it all,  but it doesn't impede

my card making, as you just learn as you

go,  and it is so much like the old way,

that has been an immense help.

I am thankful

for our new dentist, even tho I have not

been yet,  I have had several conversations

with the girls there and my hubby has been

twice now,  and he loves it and thinks they

are very thorough and knowledgeable.

I am thankful

that we paid attention to that inner voice

that told us we needed a new dentist, as

hubby found out he had quite a bit of work

to be done, and it should have been dis-

covered long before now.  Which is sort
for scary for me.........cause I go next.  lol

I am thankful

for our air purifier that we have had for
years because of allergies,  but lately I
don't have to use it for allergies that often
but it is really handy when Rosie is here,
because every noise she hears she thinks
is our cat Molly, but when we turn on the
A/P it pretty much drowns out all noise,
and we all sleep like babies.............lol

I am thankful

that we have the ability and priviledge of 

praying for our nation and our political 

situation.  We have sure been praying over
 these Presidential and VP debates like crazy.
We believe prayer is the only thing that is
 going to change things for our country.

for you my bloggy friends,  you bring me 

a lot of enjoyment with your comments and

stories and emails.  I have always had pen

pals when I was a kid,  so it is like having

adult pen pals now,  and I love it.

So Thanks for your time, energy, prayers,

encouragement, shared ideas, inspirations

and more........You are all great!!

I am thankful

for what a wise hubby I have,  in fact, after
bible study today, I realized as I was giving 
my own input  about things, how many times I 
mentioned great insights my hubby has given me.
What a blessing!

I have to say I really love doing this 
list as it really makes me think about 
my blessings and puts me in a even

Fall kitchen Table and Coffee Klatsch

Hello..............

How are ya today?? 

 Doing well, I hope..................

I am doing well,  just  cleaning out our old van so

we can say good bye to her soon!!  

Bought these chrysanthamums last week,  and hubby 

said oh, you brought me flowers, and they do look

 like guy flowers I have to say, so if you want to 

buy your hubby some flowers well this would

be a great choice!  lol

The first 2 pics make them look chocolate brown and

 gold,  but in the store in the bright lights they looked

 more like burgundy and sunflower yellow.

Added a cinnamon roll candle I think it is,  the labels

come off,  so now I forgot what it is,  but from the

aroma,  that is what I would say it is............

Added some lace around it to make it look purty!!

and a wee pumpkin and some nuts.

 You can see a lil more of the redish tint in them here!

 Have had this pitcher a long while now,  think I got

it at Target years ago..........but still love it and love

to use it in Fall cause of the pretty leaves on it.

Since I was taking pics decided to play a bit

so decided to have a lil coffee klatsch vignette

With a Posterized affect.

 Did have the bowls of nuts with the candle

where the flowers are... liked it so just kept

it on the table too!  It looks better when
the candle is taller,  but I have burned it
down quite a bit.

Added some faux goodies for fun.

and the bowl of nuts but they are usually

in the center of the table.

Table Top Tuesday - More Fall Fun

Evening Sweet Friends,

Hope you day was good!

Mine was good,  just had a lot to get done,  and then my 
computer was not wanting to cooperate with me today
 for some strange reason.

I have been trying to get this posted all day,
but for one reason or another it just hasn't happened.
until now,  and it is bedtime so hoping to quickly get
er done....................lol

Thought I would show you some more Fall pictures
from my house.  These first shots are of a round
table in my family room.

Love all these natural elements...ya know!

I usually put this arrangement on the coffee table
but decided to do something different this year!
I like it here, a nice change, and will show you
the coffee table next week probably.

This next table top is in my hallway on the way
to the guest bathroom and bedroom and our
computer room.  We have a split plan .
Master Bedroom and Bath on one end, other
bath and bedrooms at opposite end.   We
have really liked that!

A faux pumpkin with just a few added touches

I like to use greeting cards sometimes if I really like them,
and they remind me of someone special or a special event.

I used the blue to give a punch of color and a lil surprise.

 Posterized Affect

 Always nice to add a lil candlelight. I do love using my candles
They just cheer me up,  and most of them make the house
smell so great!

What is a gazelle? Besides an animal, You asked!!

Hello Sweet Friends,

Happy Monday to you!! 
 Hope you had a great weekend
 full of  life's blessings!!

Ours was ....... played a lot of wii tennis, 
watched a movie that turned out to be a play, 
and I like plays... but was expecting a movie, 
 it was okay! Just not what we were expecting,
 and we kept falling asleep anyway!! lol 
Went to a ladies get together at my church on
 Saturday, Sunday School and church on Sunday,
then for Yomii yogurt, tried a new flavor "Mango
Tango",  very refreshing!  took a short nap, and
we went over to Dee and Jerry's in the late
afternoon, and she did my hair as we visited,
and hubbies talked and watched a movie.
It is always a fun time for me anytime I 
get to see my kids.............


Well, I was suppose to post this last Monday
and forgot all about it, but downloaded some
pics a bit ago and realized oh yea, you sort
of forgot about that!  So anyway, Here they
are better late than never.  Just for you
Noreen......................

The header picture is our "Gazelle",  and it
is for exercising as I am sure you might
 have guessed but just didn't know what
it looked like or maybe you did..........lol

Sorry for this really bad pic, 

 but too lazy to take another one!  

These are the peddles for your feet.

It is sort of like an elliptical I guess you could
say, but think it came out way before they did.

so once you put your feet to the peddle
then you put your arms to the metal
Sorry....just couldn't resist!  lol

Anyway, you just put your hands on the
 upper handle bars and start swinging
 those arms and legs.

As hopefully you can tell from my lovely
demonstration, lol, that your legs and arms
are opposite of one another as you swing
back and forth on it.  It really gives a 
pretty good aerobic workout.

We use it about 1 or twice a week, and
we try to vary our routine daily so we don't 
get bored. So one day we will do the gazelle, 
then the next an aerobic video (we have a 
number of those that we rotate as well), then
 a stationary bike, and now we have something 
else called Wii walk it out too.  So all that
keeps us pretty active, and the gazelle and
bike we can do while we watch a movie, which
 makes it go by quickly and painlessly!  lol
and we really like that!!  

We try to exercise 4-5 times a week,for 30 mins,
and if we get behind we will double up and do
a 45 min or 1 hr. session if need be.  Has been
working great for us for almost 7 years now.
Since hubby had his initial heart problems,and
we feel the Lord has really used it to bring a lot
of healing to his heart problems.  Cause he
really feels better than he did years ago.

Well, there you have it folks,  The Gazelle...

It is a good thing, as Martha Stewart would say!
We wore our first one out,  so we are working
on our 2nd one now,  so we highly recommend
it............
