Scripture Sunday

Good Sunday Afternoon
to you Sweet Friends,

Here is the scriptures for today.

Psalms 91.....It just seems like the best
for our current situation.
I know it is long....but it is something that
should bring comfort. I was just gonna write
to read Psalm 91, but I thought there might
be some who might read this who don't have
access to a bible.  Anyway, I love reading
this and claiming it for myself and all
 those I love.............

1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most

High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and
my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s
snare and from the deadly pestilence
4 He will cover you with his feathers, and
under his wings you will find refuge; his
faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster
will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning
 you to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that
you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD,
“I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he
acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver
him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Don't forget to Pray today as Pres. Trump
has called for a National Day of Prayer
for us all to come together in prayer for
this terrible virus and our country and
those who are leading the charge of
this crisis and also for all our hospital
workers, nurses and Doctors, and for
the families who have lost loved ones.
Also, a good time to thank God for our
President and his family and cabinet.

Love and Blessings,

Nellie

Thankful Thursday March 12, 2020, Photoshop playing with Spring table pics

The LORD is my strength and my defense ;
he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him,
my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
Exodus 15:2 NIV

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a good and
productive day.

Ours has been,  we got up and
went to work in the yard.  I did
window washing, while hubby
dug out our old boxwood plants.
The windows look great and I am
happy to see those boxwood gone!
So now we definitely have to find
a replacement shrub for them.
We are thinking Dwarf Azaleas
right now but gotta do some re-
search on that still.............
Was very happy with what we
got done, but of course, there is
lots more to do till we finish but
we are making progress which
is always a good things.

Pics today are results of my
playing with photoshop affects
cause I took too many pics of
our 1st Spring table.  lol
I think they are fun and thought
you might as well....

You can see the affects much
better if you click on any pic
and it will make them all
large.

With a Cutout Affect

#1
Thankful for a fun night out shopping
for hubby and my sister-in-law for
their birthdays.  I had to return the
things I got for Susan from the week
before, as they did not fit right and
then get her some thing else. She
was very pleased with the new
clothing and it looked and fit
very nicely. Then enjoyed dinner
at Cheddars......

#2
Thankful for a lovely time with the
 family celebrating hubby and lil
darlings birthdays. The weather was
so nice out we got to sit out in the
yard some while lil darling enjoyed
swinging. Dinner was really good
too, if I do say so myself.....lol
Beef Brisket,Mashed Potatoes and
a yummy Tropical Salad (click
 Key Lime Pie for dessert.

Thankful that our contractor finally
showed up again and worked on our
shed and is pretty much finished other
than just a few small odds and ends,
which hopefully he will do next week-
end, so he can get his money. It was
a whole year on Feb. 23rd.- we knew
he worked a full time job and it would
take a while but never dreamed it
would take this long. So very excited
about getting this project over with
to say the least, but thankful we at
least have been able to put some large
things in there since December.
It was also a nice unexpected birthday
present for hubby to have him show
 up on Saturday and Sunday.......lol

#4
Thankful for my sweet hubby and
what a godly man he is....He also
loves and supports his family and
others, is very wise, brilliant and
handy as well.......and the list
could go on, for sure.

Thankful the we had a long time
friend of 48 years visit us on
Tuesday and Wednesday.  He is
single now, when we knew him
he was married with 2 daughters.
They are now grown daughters
with almost grown children.
We really had a fun time catching
up and hearing about some of the
changes in his life in the last yr.
or so, that are very good.

#6
Thankful that our single parent
friend is getting to go on a trip to
Israel with our church.  She really
needs this trip as she is just sort of
burned out as she has been raising
not just her own children over the
years, but many children since she
was just a teenager. She is just such
a loving and giving young woman.
She has always wanted to go to the
Holy Land.  So praying she has a
 Wonderful time of Refreshment,
and that the Lord meets her there
in a very special way, and revives
 her body. mind and spirit.

Note:  The trip was cancelled due
to a 2 wk quarantine to get into
Israel due to the Coronavirus.
They are rescheduling for Oct.
I think it is.  She was bummed
but of course, knows it is for the
best. So decided to go visit some
relatives and the beach.

#7
Thankful for more yard work
that we got done, and some
new pretty copper solar lights
we put in.

#8
Thankful that my friend who
hurt her leg (with the hairline
fracture) last week, went to an
orthopedic Dr. and they took
her out of that full leg support
thing and gave her a flexible
support which has made things
a bit easier for her to not to
put weight on that leg, where
before she couldn't help not
doing that. They also have
her exercising it a lil bit too.
Just an up and down move-
ment which was surprising.

Distorted Pinch affect

#9
Thankful that I got my new
glasses today. I really like
both of them, and they was
not much to adjust to which
is nice.  I got some plastic
frames this time with out the
lil nose thingies and so far
I like them a lot, they are
quite different for me, as I
am not used to having that
 thick a frame around my
glasses.  I also got a pair of
wire frames as well, they are
pretty close to what I had
before, cause I still like
them.

#10
Thankful that everything is
finally finished at my daughter
and son-in-loves beach cottage
as it's been a long haul and a
bit stressful at times, with having
to stay on top of getting their
workmen to get things done in
the time frame they promised,
as they have been quite a bit
behind schedule and they have
their first rental guests of the
year coming in on March 16th.
So they will be headed back
to their normal home today.
They are having pictures taken
of the outside on Friday so will
be able to share those with you
soon.

#11 and 12
Thankful for a fun night out.
We had to exchange a shirt and
shorts that hubby got for his
 birthday.  They were the right
size, but didn't fit like it.....
fortunately we were able to get
the same shorts in the same color
and the same shirt but in a different
color, but they both look nice
 together.
We also had fun going to Home
Depot to look at shrubs and
plants.  We need to pull up some
old boxwood plants that we have
had for ages, cause they are not
looking real great, so trying to
figure out what to replace them
with.  We saw some Croton
plants and thought they would
be nice and colorful for a nice
change, but think they will
grow too big for that area as
the windows are low and we
don't want anything covering
them.  So gotta do some re-
search and
talk to our Son
and see what he thinks (since
he is in that job field).  Hope
we can use them cause they
would really look nice with
the color brick on our home.
Thankful for dinner out at our
fav Mexican restaurant.  I had
Taco Salad and it was perfect.
So yummy!

First Spring Table

Afternoon Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a lovely Tuesday.

Ours has been good and busy, and the lovely
will come later....lol   We are preparing for
a visit from a friend of 48 years,  so just
finished up the  quest bedroom a few hours
ago,  and tying up any lose ends, like run-
ning to the store for few things.....
and hubby did that for me.  So I actually
had some time to post today.  lol

Thought I would share my First Spring
Table of the year, which was for my
Sister-in-law Susan's birthday. Was
trying to come up with an idea for
table, and was looking thru my stash for
ideas and came across these adorable
Spring plates and napkins I got at the
 dollar tree awhile back. Thought
they would be perfect even tho it
wasn't Spring they were cute and
would add a touch of whimsy to
for a ladies table.

A lil Tip from me:
I try to pick up paper goods when I
find some that are pretty and at a good
price cause I always find a time to
use them............

and I still had my Valentine's flowers from
hubby, and thought they went well with
the plates and napkins. So just stuck them
in a white and pretty pot and added some
candles and I had a centerpiece.

 I have gotten a
lot of mileage from this lil azalea plant.
It is still in bloom on my kitchen table
and it has been almost 4 weeks now.

I decided to us my peach stemware Susan
had given me, so stuck some gold mercury
glass candle holders inside 2 of them
and they made for nice candle holders
and glasses around the table.

They only had dessert plates so just put
them on our white corelle ware and used
them for color and for salad plates. I
used 2 at each place setting to make
them more sturdy for salad.

Thought the green table cloth was perfect
as the white shows up so nicely and I love
pink, peach, green and white together.

and I obeyed what the napkin said.
"Keep Life Simple"
So I just did a simple table.........
course, a lot of my tables are
simple....lol

Used some vintage silverware that was
passed down from hubbies family.  I love
it's patina and it has dainty lil flowers on
it and always reminds me of my baby
silverware my Mom had bought for me.

A Few overviews

We had Beef Stroganoff, yellow rice, and
my rendition of a Better Homes and Gardens
Salad,  (Click here if you would like the
recipe), rolls, Cheesecake and Buttermilk
Pie w/ Strawberries.  If it sounds yummy
that's cause it was.........lol
The whole family loves Beef Stroganoff,
it was my late  Mother-in-laws recipe.
I had never eaten it before I met hubbys
family.  She used to put it over egg
noodles but I am not crazy about egg
noodles for some reason, so I prefer it
over rice, yellow or Jasmine rice, but
if you happen to be an egg noodle
lover you might want to try it that
way.

I was gonna share my version of
  the Beef Stroganoff recipe with
you but couldn't locate it, so
maybe I just didn't do it yet.
I try to put most of our favorites
on here so my daughter can get
them if and when she wants.

Next time I make it I will have
to post the recipe.

Thanks for coming by,

and

Have a great rest of the week.

Thankful Thursday March 5, 2020, Winter look living room #2

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our
salvation.  Let us come before him
 with thanksgiving and extol him
with music and song.
Psalm 95:1-2

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a good day.

It is a gloriously beautiful day here in
Florida, perfect temp and was overcast
but now is sunny and bright.  Hubby
and I got up early and worked out in
our front yard, cutting more bushes,
mulching and sprucing up. More to
go, but we made quite a dent at least.
This is when I love yard work when
it is cool and breezy and you can
really enjoy being outside.

Better look at the picture,  it came
from a Winter Magazine I had.

Pictures today are from the rest of
our Winter Look Living room.

Now on with my Thankfuls.....

#1
Thankful for a great time at our
friends house last Thursday night.
We had a lovely time, and she made
a wonderful dinner and the table
looked beautiful, and the fellow-
ship was sweet.

#2
Thankful that my hubby was able
to help one of our friends daughter,
 with her Geometry on Saturday.
She is really a smart girl, but think
she just needed someone to help
instill some confidence in what she
already knew.  So she seemed to
feel more confident when she left.

#4
Thankful to get to talk with our Son
about his new job, of course, it is
pretty stressful right now,  just like
any new job when you are trying
to learn new things.  At least we
know what to pray for now.

#5
Thankful for a lot of work we
got done on the business on
Monday and Tuesday.

 I didn't have to clean.

#8
Thankful for a nice time chatting
with a single Mom of 4 children,
and hopefully she left a bit more
encouraged.

#9
Thankful that hubby had a good
Drs. visit.  Dr. said well, that
was a boring visit,  but just
the kind we want.   lol
I say Amen to that!!

#10 and 11
Thankful that we got our car serviced,
and our tire fixed, it had a slow leak,
and they did a good job as we are not
having any more problems with it.
and Thankful hubby doesn't have
to do that stuff anymore as he did
everything on our cars for the most
part his entire married life, so he
deserves this long awaited break.

Polar Coordinates (I dubbed it my Alice
and Wonderland affect)

#12
Thankful for our Sweet granddaughter.
She turned 7 yrs. old on Wednesday.
She is just the most precious child,
and has brought so much joy to our
family. Growing up so fast....and some-
how you wish you could slow it down....
Course, we know that is just not possible,
but doesn't keep us from wishing tho.  lol
We took her to get a cup cake at the
mall after school on Thursday and
gave her a few outfits for her birth-
day, and she will be able to celebrate
again on Sunday when Grampy
and all the family celebrate he
and her birthdays.  Grammy (me)
is making them a nice dinner on
Sunday..........
