Welcome to Thankful Thursday - June 27, 2013

And there was evening, and there was morning
--the fourth day.  And God said, "Let the water teem
with living creatures, and let birds fly above the
earth across the expanse of the sky. So God
created the great creatures of the sea and every
living and moving thing with which the water teems,
according to their kinds, and every winged bird
according to its kind. And God saw that it was good

Morning Sweet Friends,
and a Hearty Hello.................

So what have you been up
 to this week?
Hope it has been a good one.

Mine has been very good and very enjoyable.
You will see a lil of whatI have been up to this
week, as your read my post. Also watched
our lil darling yesterday,  she just gets cuter
by the week.  She is over 4 mos. old now,
can hardly believe that, seems like we
have had her for much longer, and of
course,

#1
 I am thankful
to be able to be a part of her life several
times a week, and so realize what a
tremendous blessing that is.

#2
I am thankful
for a new bath soap hubby found.  I love
using Dove Soap,  cause other soaps make
me itchy,  so I need that moisturization.
Hubby ran by the store on his way home
from work to pick up a couple of things,
one being Dove Soap,  well,  he is great
about always checking out the generics
to see if they have the same ingredients
and so forth,  so he saw the Publix brand
soap,  and read the label and brought that
home and at first, I was like,  ewwww,
great........what if it makes me all itchy,
Well contrare.........it is awesome soap,
and I just love it.  Has a wonderful
fragrance and it has an ingredient that
Dove Soap doesn't,  coconut oil.........
My skin feels wonderful,  so we both
highly recommend Publix brand take off
of Dove Soap.  Try it.....think you will
love it...................and it cost less......!!

#3
I am thankful
that I am relearning my greeting card package
again........... since I got out of the habit of using it,
back when I had that tendinitis in Novemember
and couldn't sit for too long for many months.
Then our lil sweetie came along and that had
my heart and mind captured and still does!
I pretty much forgot everything I had learned,
so it has been like starting all over again, but
finally am back to where I was,  there is just
still so much to learn but it is worth it cause
it has a lot of capabilities,  just don't know
how to use them yet.  I will get there in
time...............hopefully!

#4

I am thankful
that I have made 3 more cards this week,
and am happy with the results.  Also tried
the new spica glitter pen on one,  and
loved the results.

#5

I am thankful
for a fun unexpected surprise and
opportunity that we have, but can't tell
you about it till next week.................

#6
I am thankful
that I am feeling  better,  the past few weeks
I have just been feeling really exhausted, and
just didn't know why,  so have been trying to get
more protein in my diet.  Happened to mention
that to a blog friend and she said she was having
that problem awhile back and it turned out she
was anemic,  so her Dr. told her to take a multi-
vitamin with iron and a vit c to help with absorption.
So I had both,  so started taking it right away and
couldn't believe I actually felt better so quickly.
So thinking that must be the problem.

#7
I am thankful
for thought provoking movies that have a
great story lines.

#8
I am thankful
that I was born and raised in the good ole
USA,  even with all her problems this is still
the best place in the world to live.

#9
I am thankful
for bananas,  they are my 2nd fav fruit,
I put them in smoothies all the time,  and
love peanut butter and banana sandwiches,
like them in cereal, and drizzled with chocolate
and nuts, then put them in the freezer awhile
Yummy!

#10

I am thankful
for the beauty that we see all around us in nature,
every single day, all of God's handiwork and creativity.

..........this week I have really
enjoyed that we have grapevine with lots of grapes
and also a tree full of berries, don't even know what kind
of tree it is,  my son thinks he finally figured it out and told
me the name but never heard of it before, so forgot it!
Guess I better write it down, next time.

Am wishing it was Fall........cause the tree has

these really pretty redish orange berries,  and they
would surely be pressed into use, as I love to use
natural elements like that in the Fall and Winter.

#11
I am thankful
for gluten free products, because they seem
to be making a difference in my life by helping
with symptoms of a physical issue I have had
for most of my life.

#12
I am thankful
that my son-in-love Jerry made it safely to
his destination  for a trip for his job,  and
that things are going well.

#13
I am thankful
that I found a really good honey mustard
salad dressing.  I really love the one that
Outback and Chili's have cause it has more
honey than mustard, and is absolutely
delicious, so this tasted very close to
theirs and made me a happy girl! If you
want the recipe just let me know, cause
it only has 4 ingredients and is very
easy to make. Love that part too!
I just really don't like bottled dressings,
all that much,  there  was a really good
ranch one, but can't find it any more.

Well, Sweet Folks,  that wraps it
up for today..........and I actually got
it done early for a change.  Imagine
that!!  lol

So glad you could drop by,  so
please leave a comment so I know
you were here.

Have a Super Duper Weekend,

Love, Hugs and
Summer time Blessings,
Nellie

Beach themed Father's Day Table 2013

Morning Sweet Friends,

                         Hope you had......
           a very nice weekend.

Ours was nice, but quiet.......we did watch a movie and we
finally got our lawn mowed on Sat.,  it rained every night,
so we couldn't do it before.......we love getting it out of the
way on the weekdays, so we can just enjoy the weekend.
It wasn't a total loss..........we did get some sun while we
were out there, so that was nice.
We did go out for a lil while on Sat. nite to get a smoothie,
and just to get out of the house.  Then we ran to Michael's.
Found one of the spica glitter pens I told you about in my
Thankful Thursday post, last week.
Anyway, was excited about that, can't wait to find just the
right thing to use it for.
Then went to Bed Bath and Beyond and Kohl's just to
look around a bit,  ran into some friends and talked with
them for a shortwhile.  It was just fun to get out for while.
Sunday was church and our usual restful relaxing day.
 when we don't have company.

Thought I would show you my hubbies Beach
themed Father's day table.  I really enjoy
using a theme myself.

If you would
enjoy seeing the pics larger,  all you need
to do is click on one and they will all enlarge.
That is a nice feature they have added
recently, cause you use to have to click on
each one separately.

If you remember I got the idea for this tablescape
from some napkins I found at the Christmas store
months ago, but had forgotton all about until all
of a sudden I remembered them,  right when I
was thinking well Lord, what am I gonna do for
a table, haven't even thought about that.....
and those napkins came right to mind.
shew.....that was sure a blessing!

It was nice the napkins had 2 different sides to them.
This was the first side.  I am using my corelleware
a lot these days,  since all my other white dishes got
broken in the china hutch crash. I really love these
dishes tho,  cause they are so light,  and we have had
them over 6 months and there is not a scratch on them.
That would not be so if they were the pottery or stone-
ware type, that was one of the things I disliked about
them, also the heaviness as well.  Course, they do
have pretty edging,  I loved that about them.

This was the other side of the napkin.  Just placed a
shell and some almond joy midgets in the place setting.

Since there were only 5 of us,  it left the end of the table
empty,  so gathered up all my Beach stuff and made a
vignette at the end of the table, as well,  as a center piece
which you will see coming up.

With colored pencil affect

These cute lil dishes were a gift from my Dee
and Jerry when they went on a trip to the Bahamas,
so wanted to use them as well.  Used one as a
butter dish,  and you will see how I used the other
2,  again coming up!

The vignette from the opposite side of the table.

Took this in the early morning to see how it
looked with all the candles lit.  See the star
fish dishes,  thought they made a nice lil
candleholder.  I used the glasses I did,
because they have a beading down the
side which reminds me of a starfish.
You would have to enlarge the pic to see
it tho.......................

With the candles ablaze.......this was from the morning too.
A test flight, so to speak...............lol

Here is a closeup of the centerpiece.

This was taken from the oposite side!

With  colored pencil affect

This is in the late afternoon with the lights on

Love the candle light,  but it just wasn't dark enough to
enjoy them the way you would if it was at least a lil dark out.

Oh well.................so much for ambiance,  course as
it got darker and we sat there talking we did get to
enjoy  them some.......................

With Posterized affect

Well............The Parties Over......................

And we just let the candles burn on...................

So thankful you could come by and hope you leave
a comment to let me know you were here,
I so enjoy that!

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - June 20, 2013

Moon rising at the beach

The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and
the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
1 Corinthians 15:41

Greetings Sweet Peas

So how are ya??  Having a good
week thus far??  Hope so!

My week has been a good one, other than
being a lil tired, guess that late Sat. nite,
early Sunday morning and all dayer finally
caught up with us!  lol
But it was well worth it...............

Will tell you about it.................

#1
I am thankful
that we ran into a couple that used to go to our church
years back, and we hadn't seen them in 5 years.  We
ran into them in Target and we yakked awhile,  then we
parted ways, and we went to Walmart and ran into them
again.  I had found out from his wife that he loves Yomii
frozen yogurt too, so when we were leaving Walmart
hubby said well, if yall decide to go for yomii tonight we
will probably see yall again.  We ran to Lowe's real
quick and then went on to Yomii and there they were,
so we all sat outside and had a great time catching
up.  Me thinks it was a divine appointment........
especially since we never run into anyone we know,
but upon rare occasion. Turned out to be a really
 fun night tho!

These are the last of our vacation photos
a parasailor - saw them  many times everyday.

 #2
I am thankful
that hubby and son seemed to have a really nice
Father's Day.  Scott, Megan and Brooklyn came
in the early afternoon, and we had lunch and just as
they were leaving Dee and Jerry were arriving,
soon after Susan, my SIL came too.  We all had
dinner together that evening and sat around and
talked and made a day and a night of it.
Hubby liked his gifts, and good I got those sur-
prises cause he didn't find a grill he likes yet, so
we are still looking....Most are just not that well
made, and looks like they would rust out very
quickly!  But we will keep looking and eventually
we will find the perfect one.
It was another Fun  Family Day..............

Can you see the White Egret??

#3
I am thankful
that I found sometime to get back to making my
cards again,  have done 3 this week, and the 4th
is in process, but was  very pleased with how they
turned out.  Always a good thing!  lol

Loved this pretty white sailboat - it showed up so well.......

#4
I am thankful
that I found out some fun information this week
from one of my blog frineds, Donna about something
called a spica pen,  sounds like it is a glitter pen, and
sounds like something I would like to try as well,
so was happy she shared that info with her readers.

You should check out her blog she makes
beautiful cards.......all hand done.

This same moon as the first pic, just on zoom

#5
I am thankful
for the creativity that God gives to each of us,  it
is just so amazing to see all the neat stuff that all
of you do, everyone has their own lil niche, but
yet so amazing ......love seeing the things yall
make and do,  it really does light a creative
fire for whatever it is that others find creative.
Iron sharpening Iron, in a creative way!

#6
I am thankful
for a great day with Miss Brooklyn on Wed.,
The last few times we have seen her,  she hasn't
been her happy and fun lil self, course, she was
tired, but her Grammy was a lil concerned about
her, since Mommy has returned to part time work.
Today she was great and like her normal self,
so this Grammy is greatly relieved...........
She is such a precious and happy  lil darling!

#7
I am thankful
for fun things you see that just make you
belly laugh like what we saw last night
on yahoo news.
If you didn't see my post yesterday and
want to Laugh a little,  just click here!

Same sailboat but with a posterized affect!

#8
I am thankful
for the La. Senator who has left the
democratic party to go back to the
republican party,  because he has seen
the truth about it.  Enough Said........
accept Praise the Lord , hope there will
be many more that see the light!

This was the normal waves we had all week and altho we had
some rain we also had plenty of sunshine as well.

#9
I am thankful
for a new book I just got and have only
read the first chapter but think it is gonna
be another winner.  It is by Denise Hildreth
Jones again, remember I said I thought I
would probably get another one of her books
cause I enjoyed the first one so much
"Secrets over Sweet Tea",  well, the new
book was a precursor to the Secrets of
Sweet Tea, and it is called Reclaiming
your heart and tells about her life, and
also teaches you how to keep a close
check on your own heart.

If you are interested she has a website
www.reclaiminghearts.com

This was the morning we left, dreary and rougher seas

#10
I am thankful
for book authors and even blog authors
who write things that touch or speak
to our hearts and lives.

Looks more like a moon now that it is darker.

#11
I am thankful
for rain,  this is sort of a bitter/sweet
thanks.  I love all the benefits of the rain
but am a wee tired of all the dark clouds
thunder, lightning and overcast skies and
the rain.  I tried to steal just a few mins.
out in the sun numerous times today,
At times it was beautiful and sunny,
but by the time I  was headed out or got
out there and set up........the sun went
in.....felt a bit  like someone was
pranking me.  Sometimes I think
the Lord has a very good sense
of humor!  lol

Well........Maybe tomorrow!!

Another shot of beach the day we left, made it much
easier to leave I have to say!

#12
I am thankful
for shish-ka-bobs,  we haven't had
them in ages, yet we really love them,
So.... guess what I am making for din din
tonight,  just hope it isn't raining when it
comes time to cook those babies!  lol

Well......
        That's All Folks...........

Looking forward to having you
come by,
Be sure to say hello............

Have a Funtastic Friday and
a Wondrous Weekend!

Love, Hugs and
Humorous Blessings,
Nellie
