Thankful Thursday January 30, 2025, and pictures of Winter decor

Greetings Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you doing well, and not feeling too

lazy from all this cold weather.  I have to confess

I have had a hard time being motivated on these

cold days, but we are back in the 70's and think

we are even going into the 80's this week,  so that

should help get me moving again!!  lol


Pictures today are of our Winter look in the family

room. Finally finished................whoo hoo!

It might still look a lil bit Christmasy in some

places, but I love it..........cause I love Christmas

and especially I love Jesus who it represents.






So on with my Thankfuls.....

Thankful for elderberry w/ vitamin C  gummies, B- complex

 and listerine gargles along with  prayers that have kept me from 

getting really sick.

Thankful for the visit with our long time friend Don,

 we went out to dinner then we continued our visit until 

12:30 pm., went to bed and visited all morning long, 

and we had a nice breakfast here, and then he had to

 get on the road.  He is meeting his Daughter and her

family and they are going on a cruise for the week.

He  might come back next week on his way back.

Thankful that our Daughter and hubby faired

well in the snow storm last week.  Still waiting

on it all to melt, and their doggie just loved it.

Note; Finally melted, but sure took it's

sweet time.  lol

Thankful for 2 free delicious subs from our Publix

Grocery store.  We had called in an online order

and they were incredibly busy, and had not even

started our sandwich at the pick up time, so hubby

wound up waiting almost 45 mins., so they said

the subs were on them. (I have a sneaking suspicion

that we got them free because hubby is so understanding

and patient) Such a lovely surprise...........

and they were so good too!

Thankful for a good day at church, our Lead Pastor

who is retiring spoke today.  It is his last time to speak 

to us as our Lead Pastor  and it was such a personal

message to the congregation.  Sweet and Funny

at times.  Sad but hopeful, but he will be filling in

for the other Pastors at times. He and his wife

were such a blessing...........


#6 and 7

Thankful for the wonderful tribute and farewell

send off,  they gave to he and his lovely wife.

It was supposed to last from 5-7 p.m. and

we only got to stay for the first part which was 

only supposed to last about an hour or so, but

didn't end until 7 and they still had a fellowship

with dessert and snacks after that.  It was 

really a blessing to be a part of,  so much love

in one room.  Awesome!

Thankfully we had gotten to talk to he and his

wife in the morning after church, cause we had to

leave at 7 as we had plans to go out to dinner

with our Son and lil darling.  Thankful we 

all got to go out to dinner together, and we also

got to see our favorite server.......lol

Thankful for another good school day with

lil darling.  She is great about staying on task.

Thankful for chocolate pudding pie.  I made

it in like 5 mins. and it was so yummy. Haven't

had it in years.........

Easy peasy, just get a graham cracker pie crust,

whip up some instant chocolate pudding and put it

in the pie crust, add some whip cream and your done.

Our Mom's used to make pudding and jello all

the time as desserts when we were kids.

Thankful for an absolutely gorgeous sunset I

saw on Tuesay evening, pinks, peaches and lavendars,

breathtasking!!

Thankful that President Trump visited  the

Western North Carolina area last week,  and

that I saw a reel  on facebook, where they were starting 

to get help.  It said,  "Here comes the Calvary",

and showed a ton of dump trucks lined up to start

clean up.....Awesome!!  It's about time!!

Thankful that I have been in process of making

Valentine's cards for my family.  Have a

couple that are completed, but more to go.....

Thankful Thursday January 24, 2025, and whimsical drawings of cute houses

Hello Sweet Friends,

Hope those of you who have snow are enjoying

 it and weathering it well.  All the pictures I have

 seen look amazing,  but, I also know with all that

 beauty, comes some hardship and difficulties as

 well.  Our Daughter and Son-in-love in SC

 got snow, and the pics were so pretty, and our

 furry grandson dog, Bentley is sure enjoying it.

 He is a golden doodle, so he is excited about

 pretty much everything.  So he was running

 around and enjoying himself.  It's been cold

here about 39 and 40, but no freezing temps,

and next week we will be in the 70's,  that's

Florida for you.

drawings, cause I think they are so cute

and because I have no pictures taken

yet of our Winter decor, but will have

 some for next week.  Very Thankful

for pixabay who provide  me with 

lovely pictures.





Well, on with my Thankfuls.....



#1 and 2

Thankful for a nice evening out just

 going to Sams club and to Home Goods,

and then out to dinner for Mexican food.

  We went to the same place we went

 with our family after Christmas to

 celebrate our Son-in-loves birthday early.

Their food and their service is just so

amazing, the best Mexican we've

ever had.  Our only complaint is the

music is way to loud even tho it's

good..........forget conversation.  lol

But it was worth it............

Also, thankful that the stores were pretty

empty again, so that was so nice. We were

surprised and then we remembered that

before folks were out Christmas shopping.

Thankful for a good Friday with lil 

darling as we did schooling. Just love

the heart of this child.

Thankful I am making progress on taking

 christmas decor down, hopefully Monday

 I can start making it look more like Winter 

in here.

Thankful for a lovely day at church, one

of our young Pastors did the message today.

Met a new couple who visited, and talked

with lots of folks.  Our lunch buddies

weren't there,  so hoping they aren't sick.

Thankful for a nice lunch at Olive Garden

that was delicious, and we asked for my

new facebook friend, and we got to see

 her cause she just happened to be

working.  She is a darling young lady,

and is such a good server.

Thankful for "caramel Frappes" from

MacDonalds.  They are so yummy!

Thankful for our new President.  Was

happy we got to watch the inauguration

today and see President Trump and 

J.D. Vance take their oaths of office.

Thankful to hear from one of my best

friends daughters today via facebook.

Her Mom was the friend we lost about

3 yrs or so ago.  Her daughter lives in

Calif. right where the fires are...She

responded to my daughter that she and

her husband were safe, but they thought

they were going to lose their home to

the fire.  Praise the Lord I just heard

from her and they and their house is

fine.  They had moved a good portion

of their home goods out in preparation

since they were just a mile away from

the fire.  Now they have much to do to

get reorganized, but thrilled they were

spared.

Thankful that a longtime friend called

and asked if we would like company

on Friday afternoon and evening as

 he is on his way to Miami.  Right now 

he is in Destin, so probably trying to

 get out of the snow.   lol

Looking forward to it.  Been a friend

for almost 50 years.

Thankful for heating, socks, and warm

 jamies.  Next week, we will be back

to t-shirts, shorts and sandals.  lol

if the weather report is correct.

Thankful I am almost done with getting

our house back to normal.  A lil bit more

to go.  Kinda been slow cause think I

have been fighting off something, so

have been kinda tired, so pacing

myself..........lol

Thankful Thursday January 17, 2025, and pics of things that make you think of January

Winter Greetings 

Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you weathering the cold

 Winter well. It is cold here in Florida and

 think it is gonna hang around for more than

 a week, which is unusual for us, but I love

 it............as far as I am concerned a

 seasonal change is a great blessing. But

 then again, we get a break from it, and

 warm up and then get it again after some

 weeks. So I know for those that don't get

 a break, it can be grueling, I am sure,

so praying for endurance for you!!

Also praying for all those in the terrible

fires in California.  Just awful.....



Pictures today are of things that make you

think of January. Tried not to make them 

to snowy looking.........brrrr.




So on with my Thankfuls...............

Thankful that a package we sent to our Son-in-love

for his birthday that we thought was stolen wound

up showing up on their porch, after our daughter

posted on a neighborhood site that her parents sent

her husband a birthday gift (The Co. name was on 

the box, and anyone would know the contents) 

but they never rec'd it yet, UPS said it was 

delivered and that it was given to the customer

which of course, it was not.............

We were praying that whoever the UPS driver

 gave it to would have an attack of conscience

and give it back.........and we sort of think that

might be what happened, as they have a ring

doorbell and no one showed up on their ring, 

so it was like someone slid it on their porch

 from the side or something.

Interesting!! We will probably never know

how it got there, but we are so grateful God

answered our prayers and that he

 got his gift...........God is good!!

Thankful that hubby found a way that I can

get my favorite Christian station Z-88.3 on

the TV now.  For some reason my tuner keeps

jumping off station quite a bit recently, and

is quite annoying,  so problem solved and I

can actually hear it better from the family

room than the living room where it was.

Thankful that Pres. Trump chose 

Gov. Mike Huckabee as the Ambassador to Israel, 

although we are very sad we are losing the

Huckabee show on TBN.  Can't think of a  better

person to be our Ambassador to Israel,  he has

such a heart for God and the people in Israel.

Thankful for a good day at church, one of young

Pastors did the service, and a sweet lady at church

 that made a Christmas ornament for lil darling

 and has been trying to get it to us for weeks.  

Was good to see a friend I haven't seen in awhile,

 and she sat with us, also got to meet a new

 younger lady named Katie, who I already know

 her Mom, but had never met Katie, and spent 

some time talking to a new young man and 

this was only his 2nd visit to our church

 and who has a lot of questions about faith 

in Christ, and how we are to live. My kind

of day..............

Thankful for lunch out with our friends as it's

been a few weeks.  Had a great time as always.

Thankful for a good school day with lil darling,

It was good to see her, as it has been over 

2 weeks, but seems much longer.............

Thankful that our friend that had the gall bladder

surgery, got out of the hospital on Monday 

and is now home and doing well, course, he

still has some recovery time ahead.

Thankful hubby happened on a buy one get

one free deal at our Publix grocer.  They were

potato chips that are made with olive oil.

Just 3 ingredients, potatoes, olive oil and

sea salt.  We are trying to switch over to

better oils, and items with less ingredients. 

 They remind me of the "Charley chips

 we used to buy in a can when I was a kid.

 They are called "Boulder Canyon" chips.

Thankful for a warm cozy bed to sleep in.

My heart just breaks every time I hear about

the folks in N. C. who are living in tents out

in the cold and snow. I can't even imagine,

but am definitely praying for them.

Thankful I was in the mood to start taking

down my Christmas decorations today, as

I haven't been before now.  lol

Thankful for a great idea the Lord gave me 

for a Valentine to send out like I would a 

Christmas card.

Thankful to hear from a long time friend 

who I hadn't seen at church for awhile and was

gonna call yesterday, but got distracted some

 how, and never did call.  She called this morning 

had been sick and wasn't getting better so she

went back to the Dr, and she has pneumonia.....

wasn't happy to hear about the pneumonia,

 of course, but at least we can pray for her now.

Thankful Thursday January 10, 2025, and pictures to make you feel warm.....hopefully...

Hello Sweet Friends.


Hope this finds you staying toasty warm. 

 I was gonna post some Winter photos, 

but decided seeing pictures of warmth

 might be more what you need right now!!

Am I right???

Been a cold, but good week here for us,

 but not so great for some of our

 friends, health wise, so have had lots of

 folks to pray for....

Hope it's been good week for you! 

We are praying for all of you in those

polar vortex areas.  I have seen on

facebook some of the accidents

on the Interstates.  Horrendous,

and also for those in the California

fires,  horrible.

On with my Thankfuls

Thankful that I happened to watch a reel

 on face book about a guys self talk, and

 how he made a mistake and was

 just beating up on himself for about a half

 hour or so.  As I was watching it the

thought ran thru my head "You don't do 

that anymore" and then I thought I don't do

that anymore" and I then I thought how

did that happen, or when did that happen

how long has it been since I did that,

and I realized all of a sudden how

 much God has changed me over the years,

 and it wasn't even anything I tried to work 

 on, or prayed for, or even knew was

really a problem.......it was .clearly His work.

It reminded me of the scripture in

Philippians 1:6, That says "He who began

a good work in you will see it thru

to completion".  God is so good!!

Thankful for my Our Son-in-Love.

Today is his birthday, and he is just the

sweetest and most respectful, hard

working guy, and is very good to our

Daughter and our family. We love

him so much.

Thankful for this adorable Christmas

picture I happened to see of 3 flamingo's

ice skating with christmas hats on, and

carrying a string of lights.  So cute,

so I am gonna make a picture for my

daughter for next year, as she decorates

with a coastal vibe and will love it, and it

just puts a smile on your face!!

Thankful for the discovery of a new

PopCorn.  We love skinny pop because

it is delicious and just perfectly salted

for me, but it isn't really made with a 

good oil, so our daughter put us onto

 a new one called "Lesser Evil" popcorn, 

and it is made with avocado and coconut

oil, and is also perfectly salted. It tastes

a tiny bit different, but delicious all 

the same. Our Publix grocer carries 

it, and it is cheaper than skinny pop, and

 I have to say I was surprised by that.

Thankful our friend Bill finally had his

gall bladder surgery this morning and

is doing well, but is in ICU as it was

a difficult surgery. They were only

able to remove half of his gall bladder

(the part with the stones thankfully)

as the other half had grown to his

liver. Dr. said he had seen nothing

like that in his 27 yrs. as a surgeon.

So if you feel so led please pray

for no complications and a good

recovery, as this situation has been

going on for over 3 months.

Thankful I have 5 new cards to

add to our card shop.

 In case you don't know all our cards

 are free, so check us out.

Thankful to be back watching "Better

Together" again, we sort of got out

of the habit cause it lasts for an

 hour, so we would watch it at night, 

cause I felt like an hour took to big

a chunk out of our day, (it used to be

only 30 mins.) but some how we just

 got out of the habit. So I decided to

 watch it now when I walk on the 

treadmill, I am realizing just how much

 I have missed it that input, and it's 

sort of like having girlfriend time

for me.

If you have never watched it I

highly recommend it, It is on the 

TBN channel.

Thankful for a fun evening out

just running a few errands, grocery 

shopping and going to Olive garden

for a soup and salad dinner in this

cool night air.  Love the change in

temps.....it's nice to have a change

of seasons.  Course, I know lots

of you are not enjoying what you

are getting cause it is over the

top cold for yall.  Praying for 

you to not lose power and to be

able to keep warm in the midst

of it all.

Thankful for the gift of prayer

especially when there is lil else you

can do for those you love and care

for, and it is turning their situation

over to God, who can do some

thing about it, and keeps one from

worrying.

Thankful for a nice long chat with

my girl today. Sure helps when we

are missing each other.

Thankful for heating that keeps

are home toasty warm, and for

flannel pJ's. that I rarely get to

wear, but love to wear!!  lol

Thankful for a reel I see on face

book almost daily called "FranDan",

it's about a lil adorable Chijuajua

named Frannie (who looks like our

late Granddaughter dog Rosie, she

passed away about 5-6 yrs. ago, and

she was the most special lil doggie

and we love and miss her so much.

and Frannie reminds us so much

of Rosie, and Frannie sits by the

door and waits for her mailman

Dan's truck everyday, and goes

crazy at the door to get to him,

and her Mom lets her out and she

runs to him like crazy.  It just puts

a smile on my face every time

I see it............
