Today I am doing a White Wednesday Post!!

*
Good Morning Sweet Peas,
*
So......How is your day going???
*
Going well,  I hope!!
*
Mine is going well so far, so good!!  lol
*
It is only 9:30 here,  so haven't accomplished too
much so far,  ate breakfast, cleaned the kitchen
put some clothes into wash, read a few blogs
and commented, and decided to participate in
White Wednesday for the first time.
*
I have heard about it but never actually seen one,
but as I was visiting around and kathy over at
Sweet Upnorth Mornings was participating in one
over at Faded Charm Cottage, so thought since I found
out where to participate I might as well join her.
I have white things all over my fireplace,  so thought
it would be fun and different for a change.
*
*
I love anything that is white but especially
white ceramic and wood pieces.  They
make my heart sing.
*
*
and as much as I love white I love white creamers
and pitchers too!
*
*
This one and the next one are 2 of my
favorites from homegoods store.
*
*
Seems like lately they haven't been
carrying any creamers but they
do have pitchers.
*
*
White flower from the painting.
*
*
*
*
Pitcher from homegoods.  Love it!!
*

*
Think I got this pitcher at Target,  but can't
remember for sure.
*
Well,  that is my White Wednesday Work up!!
*
Make sure to go over to Kathleen's at
Fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com
and see all the other fun and unique
 White Wednesday Posts.

*
Hope you all have a delightfully White Wednesday
or
Even just a delightful Wednesday !!
*
Thanks for coming by sweet folks,
*
Blessings and Hugs,
Nellie
*
P.S.  For those of you who feel so inclined...
if you would please pray for my friends hubby,
he is the same one who was in the hospital
with bleeding ulcers about 3-4 weeks ago.
He has been in the hospital for a week now,
and they say they think he has Lymphoma,
but they have still not come up with a diagnosis
yet,  and now he has pneumonia on top of it.
His name is Al.  Thank you so much for praying!!

Welcome to Heart Tips Tuesday - Products

*
Good Morning Sweet Folks,
*
Hope you had a good weekend,  and that your Monday
and Tuesday have been good this far!!
*
We had a pretty good weekend,  we actually got a lil
work done on our bathroom............Finally!!
*
We got the towel rings hung,  and put a few things on
the wall.  Got some new towels in the right colors, from
lovely Bed and Bath gift cards I got from Susan for
Christmas and My birthday,  Thanks Susan,  we love the
new towels,  they are apple green and robins egg blue,
 and they look great.
*
We still need a picture or something for over the towel
bar, but I have an idea just gotta see if it will work. We
did get some wood work painted as well,  but have more
to do (4 door frames total to be exact)  A lot of door frames
for one lil room. Jim put the 2nd coat on around one of the
largest door  frames, but it is gonna take another coat,
we are hoping that  will be the last coat.  I am still priming
the woodwork,  have 2 more frames to do, but we have
made some progress anyway, so I can deal with that.
*
Has anyone every used modge podge on ceramic????
I need to know if it will work????
**
I am having trouble finding bathroom accessories like
a toothbrush holder, and soap pump and what have
you, that I really think looks good.  So I am thinking
about putting some  wallpaper leaves on some plain
ceramic pcs. and then modge podging  them, just
don't  know if you can use it on ceraminc or not!!
*
If you have ever tried it please leave me a comment
and tell me what your experience was!!
 Would so appreciate it!
*
Still have to order the cabinet pulls and handles, but we
are getting closer to finishing all the time.  What a delight
it will be to have this job finally completed,  but it is
looking better all the time!!
*
Sunday we were thrilled to have both the kids visit,
but at different times.  Dee came for lunch and rescued us
at Bed Bath and Beyond cause Jim lost his car keys,
will tell you more about that on Thankful Thursday.
So she stayed until about 4:30, and Scott and Megan
got here about 4, and they stayed till about 9:30
so we ordered pizza and had strawberry crepes,
out on the porch, and had such a nice chat,  it was
really the first time we have had a chance to just be
with the 2 of them for any length of time, just us
and them, so it turned out  to be a delightful day,
but boy,  were we tired the next day!!
But it was a good tired!! lol
*
Well...........Guess I should hush and get on with
Heart Tips Tuesday,  huh!!
Just had to catch up since I didn't get to post
yesterday!!  lol
*
Guess what hubby came home with last night.
He stopped at Sam's on the way home,
and found these..................

*
They are delicious and addictive, but they are heart
healthy,  you can have 38 and they only have l gram
of Saturated fat and no trans fats.  Target had some
that Archer Farms makes that were just like these
that I found 3-4 years ago and I love love loved
them, and they quit carrying them. Seriously, they
are the closest thing to tasting like McDonalds fries,
the old good tasting ones, not the new cardboard
tasting ones like Burger King  has.
Kid you not, they are awesome and go great
with a Hamburger!!
*
I will give you their 800 # and their web address
so you can check out where they carry them in
your area. Phone: 1-800-913-6637 or click here.
*
If you can find them,  Try em' you will love em'!!
and they have no preservatives are bad anything!
Imagine that!!
*

*
I like to keep these single serving applesauces
and peaches on hand for when we run out of
fresh fruit,  we have something in the house we
can still eat.
*
I just discovered the mango/peach and it is
absolutely delish. However, they do have
some added sugar,  so if you are diabetic
make sure to check out the labels.
*
I have bought the strawberry one for ages,  and
if I am baking something and want to use applesauce
in place of oil I just use the strawberry applesauce,
and you would never know.  The applesauce make
cake batter or muffin batter very moist.  You would
never know it didn't have  any oil in there.
*
The diced peaches are great for putting on waffles
or crepes (make sure to drain them first) or just eating
plain with a cheese stick and wholegrain crackers.
  A nice snack!!
*

*
A few weeks back we found these black beans tortillo
chips at Publix, and the were especially good with
this Athenos Roasted Red Pepper Hummus, also from
Publix Supermarkets,  one of my favorite stores..
*
Just in case you don't know it is made from Chick Peas
and has olive oil  and other ingredients of course,
but it is a heart healthy snack.  You can eat it with
chips or better yet cut up veggies.
*
If you don't think it sounds good,  give it a try at
least once,  cause I think you will like it,  I wasn't
sure about it either until I tried it and I love it now.
Especially the Roasted Red Pepper one,  they
have other flavors as well.
*
Hubby found some low fat Hummus at Target
(roasted red pepper) and it was even better.
*

*
This is probably one of the healthiest popcorns
and it is approved by the American Heart Association.
*
We love this Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad Dressing.
It is awesome with a salad of romaine, purple onions
 strawberries with walnuts.
*
In fact,  I am gonna make it tonight with some
parmesan crusted tilapia and corn on the cob.
Ummmm, I am making myself hungry as I write!! lol
*
Well,  that is my tips for today!!
*
Hope you have a delightful evening with your
family and or friends.
*
Thanks for stopping by.
*
Blessings and Hugs,
Nellie

Have a Cheerful Sunday

*
Good Sunday Morning
Sweet Friends,
*
Hope you are having a  good and restful Sunday!
*
It is late Saturday evening so I will leave you
with this verse from Proverbs 15:30
*
A Cheerful look brings joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.
*
So make sure you give someone a nice
smile today,  and tell them something good
that is happening in your life,  they will
love it,  I promise!!
*
Have a Cheerful Sunday
Sweet Friends,

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - April 15, 2010

*
Morning Sweet Friends
*
Welcome to Thankful Thursday!!
*
So how are yall today???
*
Things went well with our couple last evening
and I got a good nights sleep,  and just had
some peach crepes and coffee,  so I am in
good shape here!!
*
Just made hubby his first strawberry crepes,
he is sold............he really liked them too!
*
So guess
#1
I am thankful to the Lord
for these delightful crepes we have discovered.
and now for the recipe for them that Lois
over at wife of a colonel shared with us.
So I am gonna try and make them.  She
said she puts pudding and fruit in hers.
Think that will be our next dessert for
our next family dinner,  whenever that is!!
*
#2
I am thankful
for the gift of prayer,  and how it can
keep us from worrying, in these trying times
in which we live,  and that when every
thing seems out of control and we feel
likes there is nothing we can do,
we can always pray............which
is really the best thing anyway!!
*
#3
I am thankful
for the gift it has been to me and my family
for me to be a stay at home Wife and Mom
all these almost 33 years.  I have loved it
and treasured it,  and feel so priviledged
to have been able to -  because I have felt
that was my calling from the Lord.
#4
I am thankful
for the fact my hubby has a good job
and things seem to be going well there still,
and He loves his job!!.  It is such a Wonder-
ful thing for a man to really love his job!!
*
#5
I am thankful
that even when he took the job after
being laid off 10 months and having to make
concessions in pay and vacation time, and he
had a much longer commute, and we wondered
why...........The Lord knew exactly what He
was doing, as always!!   It turned out to be
the perfect job for him,  no stress and he
was able to work from home after his bypass
surgery as he was convalescing, which made his
recovery quicker I think,  since it gave him
something to do and  think about since he could not
lift or do much else.  Plus for the last 3 yrs. I think
it is, he has been able to work at home on
Thursday and Fridays. So because he has no
commute those days it saves on gas and adds 4 hrs.
to our week.  So what a huge blessing it has been!!
*
#6
I am thankful
for the fact we can pay our bills every month,
not everyone can say that today.
*
#7
I am thankful
for utilities like lights, and water and refuse
pick up!  Life would be quite different
without them!
*
#8
I am thankful
that I was spared from 2 falls this week.
One last Friday when we were working
in the yard,  I did  scrape my legs up but
could have fallen on a yard oranament which
I am sure would not have been good for my
back,  the other one yesterday, I tripped
and could have fallen on my knees on tile.
*
#9
I am thankful
that things went well with our young
couple last evening,  and now I think
we are at the point we can start giving
them some tools to work with.
Thanks for those of you who prayed
for us.  God is good!!
*
#10
I am thankful
I get to spend the evening with my
lovely daughter and Rosie since hubby
 has a board meeting!!  Yippee!!
*
#11
I am thankful
for the new Joyce Meyer book I am
reading.  Like all her books it is very
good.  She is such a neat lady,  and
has really overcome a lot,  and really
has helped a lot of people,  and really
wants to help people understand what
having an abundant life is all about.
She is truly a blessing to everyone!!
*
#12
I am thankful

for some really good news I just got
from the couple we were working
with last night.  The Lord is really
working and boy, is that exciting!!

*
Well,  Sweet Folks,
Thanks for coming by .................
*
Now tell Me............
What are you thankful for today???
*
Love, Blessings, and Hugs,
Nellie

A repurposed light shade and update on crepes

*
Good Morning, Good Morning
*
How are you this fine morning???
*
I have to say I am feeling much peppier the
last few days,  think I have finally caught up
on my rest, and also that the pollen must not
be as bad either!!  Yea,  that works for me!!
*
I have decided to use this older post as
a White Wednesday post today!!
*

I wanted to show you something I repurposed
on Saturday, and am really quite pleased with.
*

*
I had this..............in fact, 6 of these

*
That came from this,  actually it is upside
down to how we used it, but couldn't get a
good pic the other way.  I actually like it
this way too!!
*
*
This was the replacement in our bathroom
re-do.  Actually I was sort of bummed cause I
liked the other one better, but the sockets were
sizzling so we thought it best to get new lights as
we have had a flood in our home,  we certainly
wouldn't want  to have a fire!!
Had trouble getting a good picture so
turned the lights way down.  It is brushed
nickel and really does look better with
our new look, but I really loved the
light covers and am so happy I found
a new way to use them.
*
*
I turned it up like this..............
So I dropped a tea lite candle in it,
and got this........

*
I was quite happy with it, but was concerned
the aluminum or plastic tea lite might not be
good against the tablecloth or wood,
so my brilliant hubby said well what
 about this
*
*
Remember these from my December blog
that we repurposed as tea light candle holders,
another brilliant idea from hubby.
*
*
For those of you who don't.... they were lids
off candle jars.  click here for the link to see how
to get the plastic off of them. You will have to
scroll down a lil bit,  in that pic I am using a
yankee candle lids but it works the same
with all of them really.
*
These were lids off candle jars from Michaels
crafts,  and they have a flat bottom,  I tried
the yankee candle lids but they are a little
too rounded to work for this.
*
*
Just put her underneath and it solves the heat problem
and  now look at this!
*
*
Aren' t they pretty all lit up.
*

*
I am sure at some point they will find there
way into a tablescape for a nice dinner,
but meanwhile,  we are just enjoying
having them out on our porch.
*
I would like to find one more flat lid
so I can have 3 to put in the middle
of the dining room table for a nice
tablescape,  but if not,  I will just
use something else in the center
like I did here!
*
*
Now I have another repurposing idea.  Our mixer
broke,  so I have 2 of these leftover.
*
*
I'm thinkin that beater painted bright
yellow and secured to the bottom in
the right position could look like the
stamen on a flower.  I was thinkin
it could make a cute yard ornament
but then it would hold water, so it  would
have to be an inside ornamentation just
don't know where I would put it,....
 on the porch somewhere probably.
*
Maybe I am going a bit too far with this
repurposing thing,  but ya never know
another project for another time!! lol
*
Oh,  and here is an update on browning the
crepes!
*
DON'T
*
or they will look like this!!

*
This is banana and cream with a lil strawberry
juice and pecans on top.
Now it was scrumptious but....
*
*
it  made it stiff and it cracked to pieces, when I tried
to fold it......it taste great but doesn't look so great,
it probably would NOT get raves revues on
Foodie Friday,  due to presentation!!
and I would understand I like pretty
presentation too!! lol
*
Once on the plate it really didn't look any
different color wise, so it was a waste of time.
but I did better this time.
*
This one was not browned and I rolled it
where it looked like theirs on the package.
This was peaches, whipcream and pecans.
Delightful as well!
Oops.......my whip cream is melting quick
cause it has been out of the fridge awhile
I guess!
*
Lois over at wife of the colonel says she
makes her own crepes and has a recipe on
her blog,  so gonna go over and get a link
for those of you who might like to try it.
You will see that it says manicotti,  but look
right below that word and you will see it
is the crepe recipe,  she uses crepes to
make manicotti,  how cool is that!!
*
If you decide to try it.... make sure you
let us know!!
*
Well, sweet folks that is it for today!!
*
Make sure to go over to Kathleen's at
Fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com
and see all the other fun and unique
White Wednesday Posts.

*

Have a super great evening and if you think of it,
say a prayer for wisdom for hubby and I as we
are counseling a young couple with marital problems,
and we can always use all the help we can get!! lol

Welcome to Heart Tips Tuesday -strawberry & cream crepes

Howdy Sweet Friends,
*
Hope your day is going well.
*
I have been out working in the yard again,
pruning and feeding my rose bushes,  and
sweeping the walkways,  and watering a bit.
It is so nice out......I just love love love
this time of year,  it is my favorite time for
working in the yard always!!
*
Welcome to Heart Tips Tuesday today!!
*
Let me show you this!!

*
This was my breakfast this morning,  my treat
for working in the yard.
*
*
Here is a closeup.  It is a decadent strawberry
and whipcream  filled crepe.  In fact,  I had two!
and the great news,
They are completely heart healthy
and delectable I might add!
*
This is all I used.

*
Well,  I did add just a lil sugar to the strawberries,
cause they were completely sugar free.
*
Found the crepes in the fruit (produce) Dept.
at Publix,  had the frozen strawberrries but
fresh would be even better,  and had the Reddi
whip fat free whip cream,  it is only 5 cal. per
2 tablespoons.
*
The crepes are ready to be used.  I noticed
mine didn't look as toasted as theirs on the
front of the package, so I suppose you could
lay them on a griddle and brown them if you
wanted to,  I might try that next time.  I thought
they tasted fine tho, and they don't tell you to
do that anywhere.
*
Anyway,  I just laid it on the plate flat,  did
a  row of whipcream down the middle then
put strawberries on top of that and folded
it over,  put a lil dollop of whip cream on
the top and added some more strawberries
and pecans,  and it was wonderful!
Probably took about 3 mins. at the most.
*
You do need to eat it rather quickly cause
the whip cream melts fairly fast.  Not like
cool whip,  but cool whip is a No No,
it is full of hydrogenated oils!!
*
The only real splurge in these crepes is they
cost $5.00 for the crepes,  but it is these
type of lil indulgences that keep us on our
good eating plan,  we don't do them often,
but they are worth every penny!!
*
Strawberry and cream crepes,
They are a good thing!
*
Give them a try.......they also have other
ideas on the back of the package,  just make
sure you use heart healthy ingredients now!! lol
*
Well, You have a Wonderful Day and Evening,
*
I am going to sit in the sun and read my
new book by Joyce Meyer.  Actually it isn't
new I have had it for months,  just haven't
gotten around to reading it yet.  It is called
"7 things that steal your Joy"!  I am almost done
with chapter 2 already, and it is good,  a lot of
the same stuff I feel the Lord has been teaching
me these last years!!  Love it!!
*
Thanks for stopping by Sweet Peas,
*
Blessings n' Hugs Galore,
Nellie

Thankful Thursday August 13, 2026, and Summer Flowers

He makes all things beautiful in his time. Ecclesiastes 3:11 Morning Sweet Friends, Hope you are all enjoying these last days of Summer. If ...
