Table Top Tuesday & Centerpc. Wed. - playing with leftovers from Dee's birthday table Part I

Hidy Ho Sweet Friends,

Hope this finds you well and happy
and getting ready for Fall too!!

I have been decorating my lil heart out over here all
morning, making this place look like Fall, and still 
working on it........have to say I am wearing down.........
talked to a friend on the phone and sat down awhile,
big mistake, sitting down that is, cause now I feel
 like taking a nap!!  lol  
So thought this was a good time to come and finish
up this post.  Already had all the pics loaded.

Well, this is not a post on Fall................
but it is a post about table centerpieces.  Remember
I told you a few weeks ago...I was playing with the
leftovers from my daughters birthday table.

Told you I like to see how many different ways I can do
things with the same elements.  So these would be part
of the results,  I'll show you the rest next week.

As you could see in the header picture,  the top had green 
flowers,  so I sent those home with my girl,  so needed
something else to stick in where the flowers were.
You can see I kept the lil turtle in.....

How about the cylinder of limes, with a candle added to 
the top. Remember my candle lid turned candleholder, well, 
it fit perfectly in the cylinder with a candle.  Liked the way
 it looks. Then added the small florals that were at each place
 and other candle jar lids with candle with raffia wrapped
 around them. and just added the placemat underneath
with some well placed strewn leaves.  Also draped my
brown tablecloth over the chairs as a backdrop.

Here I added some different candle holders,  and placed
the leaves and palm seeds differently.

 Posterized Version

I put palm seeds and a leaf in the bottom with the
candle on top.  I loved those leaves they were just
so pretty...........................

 Paint daubs affect

Had a bowl of floating flowers, so decided to add it in
and group them all a lil closer together.

Happy Monday.............

Top of the Morning to You

Sweet Friends,

How are ya??  Hope you had a restful

and relaxing weekend, and are all ready

to go today!!

That is what restful, relaxing weekends usually do

 for me,  and that was what ours was like,  and I am

 like a locomotive this morning............raring to go,

  and getting a lot accomplished,  and filled with ideas

 which is great since I am hopefully gonna start my

Fall decorating today!

We watched a couple of movies, one was a fun

romantic comedy called "Pizza my heart",  very

cute,  and the other one was " Secret of Arrow'

head lake",  it was quite good,  a good story

mystery sort of..............quite enjoyable!

Also did a much needed job of cutting our
bushes back in the front of our house.  Some
have been here all 32 years,  and they just
get so big,  and really don't do much for our
landscape, I have to say.  Every few years 
we cut them way back,  and then they look 
better,  and this was our year to do that and
 we never got to it, so we are paying for it
now............lol
I really just want to take them out....but it
is pretty hard getting those old time roots
out,  course,  it can be done,  just have to
have the tenacity....to do it.  Guess that is
 lacking at this point, problem is I don't know
 what I would put in their place.  hmmm
Something to think about for next spring.

Sunday after church we got a few tacos, then

headed to yomii for frozen yogurt,  I got cookies

 and cream, cake batter, and chocolate.  All was

delicious and yummy, and it was in the low

80's and breezy so we actually sat outside and

and can't tell you how refreshing and fun that was,
so wonderful that those 100 degree temps have

subsided..............am thrilled about that!!

Did you notice the header picture?  That was my

 fun breakfast this morning  and thought I would 
share with you.  It is healthy too!  and did I
mention delcious..................

Here is all you need to make it.  They have 4 different

varieties of these bel vita breakfast biscuits.  I used the

Blueberry ones here,  but have also done it with the

brown sugar and cinnamon,  both are wonderful.

You can use 1 or 2 wedges of laughing cow depending

 on how much you like,  just spread it on the cookies 

biscuits, then slice your strawberries and add to the top, 

 and if you want,  you can drizzle with a teeny bit of sugar.

Are you hungry yet??  Bad aren't I??

Tempting you like that............lol

They are also great for a snack or dessert!

I have done them with peaches too,  wonderful
as well....................

Welcome to Thankful Thursday - September 6, 2012

Good Afternoon Sweet Peas,

I am early for a change, imagine that!

Hope you have been having a wonderful week.

Mine week has been good, some busy, some crazy and
some fun.............

I am thrilled today to be able to tell yall something I have
wanted to tell you since early July but couldn't, so the
day has finally arrived .........................

I am very thankful

drum roll,  please

keep going

that we are gonna be.....................

" Real First Time Grandparents",

and not of the furry sort....Scott and Megan

are expecting next March 5th, 2013.  We are

all so excited in fact, beyond excited.  It has

been very hard waiting to tell yall,  but they

only were telling family and close friends till

they got thru the first trimester, so was trying

to be a good girl...........and not spill the beans! 

But they are spilt now............lol
We are soooo looking forward to this.............

I am thankful

for a really fun Labor Day Celebration at

Scott and Megans new home.  Scott made

Lasagna and it was really delicious,  and it

was fun to watch them be so hospitable in

their new home.  They even sent us home

with lasagna................Loved that too!

They found out Megan was pregnant the
day after they put the offer in on their new
home, so it was so great that they were
able to move in so quickly.  It will be a
few more week before they find out
what gender it is...........
so more fun to look forward to!!

I am thankful

for some really great talks hubby and I have

had lately,  just talking about life and thinking

about things we will do when he retires.  

Fun Stuff to think about!

I am thankful

again for this Sunday School class that we are

in, as he gives us homework every week and 

these are some of the things he tells us to talk

about,  so his questions are really good for 

generating great conversation.

I am thankful

that hubby was able to get our computer up

and running by Tuesday night,  as we had a power

 surge on Monday night and it knocked out several

things on the computer!  We had a surge protector

too,  but hubby thinks it must of taken one too many

hits,  so had to get a new one,  and a new wireless

router as well,  and he was able to work at home

on Wednesday since it was up and running.

I am thankful

for the lil bit cooler mornings we have been having,

in the 70's and lasts till about 9:30 or so.  On Tuesday

I hosed down the whole front of the house getting it

ready for Fall decorations.  It was so nice out and

just loved being able to be out there in the cool

with a bit of a breeze.  Was some brief moments

of Fallish weather.  Glorious!!

I am thankful

that I have gotten all of my coastal stuff taken down

and hopefully will pack it up today,  and start on

putting up the Fall things...............looking forward

to it.............so ready for Fall Weather.  Wish it

automatically appeared when I put up the decorations,

but at least it will seem like Fall inside.............lol

I am thankful
I heard from my uncle that lives near New Orleans
this morning,  and they have no damage, thank the
Lord.....and he is already back to work in New 
York...........so that was great news.

that my sweet friend Becky over at Timewashed
 is selling tons of her fabulous pumpkins in her etsy 
shop.  If  you have never been there..............

I am thankful
for a new green bean recipe I got from Sonny
today,  so can't wait to make it for tonight.
It is for Roasted Green Beans,  have roasted
lots of veggies but never green beans,  so this
will be a fun new experience for me.

that when we pray about something that is
troubling us, that we can count on the Lord
to help us with it,  and many times give us
a whole new perspective,  I have experienced
that today,  and what a JOY!!
God is always so good................

I will get to have lunch with Dee tomorrow
since she is working closer by this month,
so looking forward to that!

Thankful Thursday - August 30, 2012

Afternoon Sweet Peas,

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Sorry I am so late with this,  but was out most of 
the day yesterday,  and when hubby got home we
 had to mow the yard, have din din,  and then wanted 
to catch Mitt Romney's speech, so that all took up our
whole evening and have just been like a slow moving 
vehicle this morning....just really tired today....
too many late nights this week!!  lol

Well, this is the last beachy looking picture you will
see here till next year,  and I can't wait to get started
decorating for Fall.  Gotta do something to fake my
self out...........I am sooooooo ready for cooler
weather!

 Well, best get started with my thankful list.

#1 
I am thankful
is that we finally got to mow our lawn,
and our mushroom farm. lol
It has been almost 2 weeks,  so it was
like a jungle out there.  It has just been
raining  almost every evening or else if it
 wasn't we had to be somewhere, which 
was like once............
Poor Molly and Rosie were having a fun
time going out to potty!  Rosie was getting
lost in the grass.  So they are probably even
happier than us!!  lol

I am thankful

for the great fajita dinner we had at Dee

and Jerry's last night, we felt like we were

 dining in a great mexican restaurant the food 

was so good,  and Dee made  a new recipe

for guacamole dip that was awesome.

Will have to get the recipe and share it with

 you.  She sent the rest home with us so I 

get to have it again today!  Yummy.....

I am thankful

that Dee was able to do my hair last 

night as well,  and that we had a great

time talking while the guys watched the

Republican National Convention.

I am thankful 

for the RNC, as it has given us some hope

that maybe we might have a Presidential

change,  because we believe it is so needed.

Thought Ann and Mitt Romney both did a
great job as well as Paul Ryan and many
others.  Just finished watching Paul
Ryans speech as I didn't get to see it
Wednesday night.

I am thankful

that we know who holds our future in His

hands and that what ever happens with this

election in November,  it will not take the

Lord by surprise, and that He will continue

to be our provider,  not the government.

I am thankful

for a fun day out shopping and lunching
 with my new friend, it has been awhile
since we have been able to get together,
 as she works full time, but does have days
off during the week at times, which makes 
it possible to hang out once in awhiie.

I am thankful
for a lovely lunch at Cracker Barrel,
her sweet treat.  It was absolutely
delicious.  They have a grilled chicken
house salad,  and you can choose a baked
potato or potato soup.  I got the baked
potato, too hot for soup for me!
Loved every delicious bite .....

we got to bring Rosie home,  and we will
get to keep her till Monday.

that hurricane Issac passed us by.....but

am also feeling so badly for those in his 

path.  Saw some pics this morning where

a family was wading thru water that was

chest deep.   I can't even imagine.........

I know first hand, how much damage just ankle

 deep clean water can do,  so can't even begin

 to imagine what dirty deep water is like.

 Oh My Goodness!

I am thankful
that I finally found something at Macy's to
purchase with my $50.00 gift card I have
had since January.  I have been there many
times looking for clothes and always come
home with nada.............so happened to
see they had futon covers,  but they were
$100.00, but the next day they put them
on sale for 48.99,  so decided I am going
for it.  It is a solid Khaki color,  so hoping
it looks great in our computer room.
Only bummer is it doesn't ship until Sept.
12th................

I am thankful
for a new piece of exercise equipment
we just got called the "Rhythm Rocker"
it is suppose to work your mid section.
Sure hope it works like it looks like on
the TV ad.  We found it at Wally World
so if it doesn't work we can take it back.
Course, am hoping it doesn't cause any
back or neck problems either,  so we
shall see...............am hoping for the
 best cause sit ups have never worked
for me, and now with my neck and
back issues it is just out of the question
anyway, as are most floor exercises.

we are going to Scott and Megan's for
Labor Day,  it will be our first family
celebration at their new home.
So looking forward to it............

White & Centerpiece Wednesday & Tabletop Tuesday

Hope you are having a good day,  
and hope you don't live anywhere
 in the hurricane area.  Sounds like
 those poor folks have a real disaster
 there....sure have been praying
 for them.

  My uncle lives near New Orleans but thankfully, 
 he was in New York working when the storm hit,  but
 he will be going to check out the house on Saturday,
  so sure hope he finds everything okay.

It has been raining so much here in the past month
or so our backyard looks like a Mushroom Farm.
Seriously,  I have never seen so many mushrooms
in our yard or in anyone elses for that matter, and
they just pop up out of nowhere.  Last night I went
out to feed the cat and there was a whole bunch
that weren't there earlier, and they grow so fast,
I find them quite fascinating actually.............
  Told hubby maybe this is a sign we are gonna
 become Mushroom Farmers..............lol

Well,  will get on with this Meme.........

had on my kitchen table over the summer,  and
have never shown it to you, so thought it was
perfect for White Wednesday, Centerpiece
