Thankful Thursday - August 30, 2012

Afternoon Sweet Peas,

Hope all is well with you and yours!

Sorry I am so late with this,  but was out most of 
the day yesterday,  and when hubby got home we
 had to mow the yard, have din din,  and then wanted 
to catch Mitt Romney's speech, so that all took up our
whole evening and have just been like a slow moving 
vehicle this morning....just really tired today....
too many late nights this week!!  lol

Well, this is the last beachy looking picture you will
see here till next year,  and I can't wait to get started
decorating for Fall.  Gotta do something to fake my
self out...........I am sooooooo ready for cooler
weather!

 Well, best get started with my thankful list.

I am thankful
is that we finally got to mow our lawn,
and our mushroom farm. lol
It has been almost 2 weeks,  so it was
like a jungle out there.  It has just been
raining  almost every evening or else if it
 wasn't we had to be somewhere, which 
was like once............
Poor Molly and Rosie were having a fun
time going out to potty!  Rosie was getting
lost in the grass.  So they are probably even
happier than us!!  lol

I am thankful

for the great fajita dinner we had at Dee

and Jerry's last night, we felt like we were

 dining in a great mexican restaurant the food 

was so good,  and Dee made  a new recipe

for guacamole dip that was awesome.

Will have to get the recipe and share it with

 you.  She sent the rest home with us so I 

get to have it again today!  Yummy.....

I am thankful

that Dee was able to do my hair last 

night as well,  and that we had a great

time talking while the guys watched the

Republican National Convention.

I am thankful 

for the RNC, as it has given us some hope

that maybe we might have a Presidential

change,  because we believe it is so needed.

Thought Ann and Mitt Romney both did a
great job as well as Paul Ryan and many
others.  Just finished watching Paul
Ryans speech as I didn't get to see it
Wednesday night.

I am thankful

that we know who holds our future in His

hands and that what ever happens with this

election in November,  it will not take the

Lord by surprise, and that He will continue

to be our provider,  not the government.

I am thankful

for a fun day out shopping and lunching
 with my new friend, it has been awhile
since we have been able to get together,
 as she works full time, but does have days
off during the week at times, which makes 
it possible to hang out once in awhiie.

I am thankful
for a lovely lunch at Cracker Barrel,
her sweet treat.  It was absolutely
delicious.  They have a grilled chicken
house salad,  and you can choose a baked
potato or potato soup.  I got the baked
potato, too hot for soup for me!
Loved every delicious bite .....

we got to bring Rosie home,  and we will
get to keep her till Monday.

that hurricane Issac passed us by.....but

am also feeling so badly for those in his 

path.  Saw some pics this morning where

a family was wading thru water that was

chest deep.   I can't even imagine.........

I know first hand, how much damage just ankle

 deep clean water can do,  so can't even begin

 to imagine what dirty deep water is like.

I am thankful
that I finally found something at Macy's to
purchase with my $50.00 gift card I have
had since January.  I have been there many
times looking for clothes and always come
home with nada.............so happened to
see they had futon covers,  but they were
$100.00, but the next day they put them
on sale for 48.99,  so decided I am going
for it.  It is a solid Khaki color,  so hoping
it looks great in our computer room.
Only bummer is it doesn't ship until Sept.
12th................

I am thankful
for a new piece of exercise equipment
we just got called the "Rhythm Rocker"
it is suppose to work your mid section.
Sure hope it works like it looks like on
the TV ad.  We found it at Wally World
so if it doesn't work we can take it back.
Course, am hoping it doesn't cause any
back or neck problems either,  so we
shall see...............am hoping for the
 best cause sit ups have never worked
for me, and now with my neck and
back issues it is just out of the question
anyway, as are most floor exercises.

I am thankful
we are going to Scott and Megan's for
Labor Day,  it will be our first family
celebration at their new home.
So looking forward to it............

Hiddy Ho Sweet Friends,

Hope you are having a good day,  
and hope you don't live anywhere
 in the hurricane area.  Sounds like
 those poor folks have a real disaster
 there....sure have been praying
 for them.

  My uncle lives near New Orleans but thankfully, 
 he was in New York working when the storm hit,  but
 he will be going to check out the house on Saturday,
  so sure hope he finds everything okay.

It has been raining so much here in the past month
or so our backyard looks like a Mushroom Farm.
Seriously,  I have never seen so many mushrooms
in our yard or in anyone elses for that matter, and
they just pop up out of nowhere.  Last night I went
out to feed the cat and there was a whole bunch
that weren't there earlier, and they grow so fast,
I find them quite fascinating actually.............
  Told hubby maybe this is a sign we are gonna
 become Mushroom Farmers..............lol

Well,  will get on with this Meme.........

Happy Monday Morning.........

Happy Monday Morning to you,

So how are ya??  

Refreshed, relaxed, rested?? 

 Hope so,  that is always a great way

 to start the week!

Have to say that is how I feel this morning.  We had

a lot of rain over the weekend,  so we didn't do a 

whole lot of anything but have fun mostly.  Went out

 for while on Friday night,  Sat. had a nice breakfast

with Sweet potato pancakes, Looked online for

Toyota Sienna used  Van's,  talked, ate, played

 cards and wii tennis, exercised, hubby did go

set up Susan's computer for her,  had a few

difficulties,  but finally got them ironed out so

she is up and running,  much to her excitement

I am sure.  Sunday was pretty much our usual,

sans the smoothie..............we had one on 

Friday instead.

Sometimes it is nice to have rainy days and

do nothing....................I used to feel like I

always needed to be accomplishing some-

thing,  but at 60,  I am way over that!!  lol

Not that there is anything wrong with

accomplishing I still enjoy and like  that,  but 

I am also more comfortable in my own skin

 and don't feel that is a must all the time.

Wanted to tell you about something we

discovered last week,  as you might just

be able to get it.  Unfortunately,  we can't!

It is a new game show that is out,  and the

first show was last Thursday at 8 P.M.

OOPS...............hold on, I'll be right back......

 gotta get my cheese toast out of the oven. 

 Ever had that??............I haven't for awhile,

 and this morning just seemed like a good 

cheese toast morning to me,  since it is a

 bit cooler and rainy still. Ummm,  I was right, 

perfect morning for it,  so enjoyable with one

 of those perfect cups of coffee......

Oh yea,  Sorry got a lil sidetracked there,

back to the game show. It is called

 "The American Bible Challenge", 

 and Jeff Foxworthy is the game show host. 

 I didn't know that he is was a christian,  but he is,

  and there are some great comments and stuff

 it tells all about the game show and a lot about him too.

 Unfortunately,  

we don't have cable so we can't get it,  but we can

 play the game on facebook, which was fun,  but 

I really wish we could see the game as it looks

like it is really gonna be fun and interesting.

stands for in the web address I gave you. 

 So thought you might enjoy checking it out.

Guess I had best check on the storm too.

Well, it isn't quite above us yet,  but it is

much farther out in the gulf than was first

expected,  so he is no threat to us, thank

the Lord!!  Am sure praying for those in his 

path,  and praying that it causes some much

 needed rain in the midwest. I feel so bad

for those folks.................

Hope this finds you well and happy

Mine has been a blessed week,  and I am well now,
as you will read.....and happy!!  Especially happy
about my #1 thankful.  lol

I am thankful

we got our car back this evening, and it
seems to drive like a dream,  so quietly.
I think our mechanic was as happy to give
it back to us as we were to get it.  I am
sure it has probably caused him a few
tense moments.

I am thankful
that we had this unusual experience 
thinking that the car might not be repaired
as it has caused us to think about options,
which got us thinking about a lot of things
we otherwise probably wouldn't have 
thought about............but that are great
options for now and the future.

I am thankful

for my sweet and considerate hubby, who

once again saved the day...my hero!!

 Megan was coming over to pick something up, 

 and Scott is out of town, so I had asked her if she

 would like to have dinner with us, and she said yes,

 then I woke with my neck and arm problem and my 

chiropractor appointment was right at the end of

 the day,  and I said oh no, what am I gonna do 

about dinner, so hubby said........

 lets just get something from Chili's

Problem solved!!

that we got to spend some time with Megan

by herself,  as that is a very rare happening,

and as always we had a nice time, even tho

 it was short, as she was needed to be at

her Mom's at a certain time.

that Dee seemed to really enjoy her birthday

here last Sunday,  and really all week long,

as Jerry of course, took her out to dinner and

did things for her, and she spent time with

 friends,  and people at work did stuff for her

 too.  So she was a very blessed young lady!!

I am thankful

for Netflix and the great movies we can get

from them.  All very clean and enjoyable.

Watched another one last night,  it was a

very old movie with Judy Garland and Van

Johnson, sort of a musical, called

 "In the Good Ol Summer Time"

from this movie and the movie

 "shop around the corner".

I am thankful
that we have gotten our hurricane supplies
in,  just in case it should come our way.  
Usually I get them as soon as hurricane season
arrives,  but didn't this year and couldn't remember
why,  but I just did,  it was because I was preparing
and on vacation rather than preparing for a hurricane.
So much more fun..................lol

I am thankful
that my hubby was able to get a really nice
computer for my SIL at a good price for her.
He is working on it as I am typing to get it
ready for her.  Think she is gonna be very
happy with it............as hers has been on
the fritz for awhile now.

for that sweet lil bling turtle that Susan gave
me last Friday,  and was so happy he worked
perfectly with Dee's table.  He is so pretty
and very glamorous for a turtle!  lol

thinking of me..................

I am so thankful
that I got in to see my chiropractor before
he left,  or I think I would have been in
pain the rest of the week until Monday.
God is so good!!

that my friend got to go and spend over
 three days with just she and her sister,
as they have not been able to get together
for a lot of  unforseen reasons for quite a
 long time,  and I know they had a great
time together.

I am thankful
to see the great attitude my daugther is 
having over an unfair situation that she has
been dealing with.  Her attitude is simply
great,  and I know the Lord is really gonna
bless her for it.   So proud of her too.
