WELCOME TO THANKFUL THURSDAY - JUNE 24, 2010

*
EVENING..............
SWEET ENCOURAGERS
AND
WELCOME TO THANKFUL
THURSDAY.............
*
I TRUST YOU HAVE HAD A GOOD WEEK
IN SPITE OF ALL THOSE LIL ANNOYING OR
 AGGRAVATING DETAILS THAT TRY THEIR
BEST TO RUN OFF WITH OUR JOY!!
*
I REALLY BELIEVE WE HAVE TO BE
DETERMINED NOT TO LET THAT HAPPEN,
CAUSE THE ENEMY HAS AN ARSENAL
OF JOY STEALERS TO THROW OUR WAY!!
DO I HEAR AN AMEN TO THAT!!
*
*
THERE USED TO BE A BOOK CALLED
"IF LIFE IS A BOWL OF CHERRIES,
THEN WHY AM I ALWAYS IN THE PITS!
*
I BOUGHT SOME CHERRIES LAST
WEEK AND WHILE I WAS MUNCHING
ON THEM I WAS THINKING ABOUT
THE BOOK TITLE I JUST MENTIONED
AND THE THOUGHT CAME TO ME,
"LIFE MAY NOT ALWAYS BE A BOWL
OF CHERRIES, BUT WE SHOULD DO
ALL WE CAN TO STAY OUT
 OF THE PITS!!"
*
( DISCLAIMER:  BEFORE YOU WANT TO TAR
AND FEATHER ME, LET ME SAY I AM NOT
TALKING ABOUT A PERSON WHO IS TRULY
GRIEVING OVER A DIVORCE, OR THE LOSS
OF A LOVED ONE OR PET, OR NEWS ABOUT A
SOME PERMANENT PHYSICAL PROBLEM OR
 SOME TRAGIC CIRCUMSTANCE.)
*
SO THAT IS WHY MY
#1
THANKFUL IS
*
I AM THANKFUL
 FOR THESE THANKFUL THURSDAY
POSTS.   SINCE I HAVE LEARNED THAT
BEING THANKFUL IS TRULY A PATHWAY
TO MORE JOY, THEY ARE MY WEEKLY
DISCIPLINE TO STAY OUT OF THE PITS.
THEY MAKE ME THINK AND DIG DEEP
AT TIMES, AND THE LORD IS ALWAYS
FAITHFUL TO HELP ME FIND THINGS
TO PRAISE HIM FOR.
*
#2
I AM THANKFUL
FOR WHAT A SOLACE OF PEACE, QUIET,
BEAUTY AND BLESSING OUR BACKYARD
IS TO ME AND HUBBY.  I JUST CAME IN FROM
SITTING OUT THERE BY MYSELF, AND THINKING
A BIT (HUBBY HAD AN ELDERS MEETING
TONIGHT).  ANYWAY  I ALSO WANT TO TELL
YOU WHY, IT IS ESPECIALLY A BLESSING!!
BECAUSE IT WAS COMPLETELY DEMOLISHED
AFTER HURRICANE CHARLIE WENT THRU
 HERE 6 YRS. AGO.......CHARLIE SPAWNED A
TORNADO THAT TOUCHED DOWN ON THE
LOT RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO US, IT TWISTED
OFF THE TOPS OF ALL THE TALL PINE TREES
AND THREW THEM ALL IN OUR BACKYARD.
IT LOOKED LIKE A WAR ZONE, I HAD NEVER
SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT THIS UP CLOSE AND
PERSONAL.  ALONG WITH THAT, CAME THE
REALIZATION THAT IF THAT TORNADO HAD
TOUCHED OVER JUST  A WEE BIT MORE,
 WE MIGHT NOT BE HERE.
#3
I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE SIGHTS I GET TO VIEW IN MY
BACKYARD; DRAGON FLYS DARTING
BACK AND FORTH, BIRDS FLYING
 OVERHEAD AND CARDINALS INTO
TREES NEARBY , THE LUSH GREEN
 BEAUTIFUL WOODS THAT SURROUND ME,
  BOUGANVILLA BLOOMING IN 2 SHADES
OF PINK, HOT PINK AND PALE PINK AND
YELLOW, ALONG WITH GOLDEN YELLOW
LANTANA, AND HOT PINK ROSES,
AND OF COURSE, A BEAUTIFUL BLUE
CLOUDLESS SUNNY SKY.
*
*
#4
I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE SOUNDS I GET TO HEAR THAT
ARE SO RELAXING AND REFRESHING;
FROGS CROAKING, CRICKETS CRICKING
OR WHATEVER THAT NOISE IS THEY MAKE,
BIRDS SINGING, A PLANE FLYING OVER,
THE NEIGHBOR RUNNING HIS BOAT, WELL
TRUTHFULLY I COULD HAVE PASSED ON
THAT ONE, BUT FORTUNATELY, IT DIDN'T
LAST TOO LONG.
*
#5
I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE COOL BREEZE  AND THE SUNSETS
THAT WE NOW HAVE OUT BACK BECAUSE OF
HURRICANE CHARLIE , HE TOOK OUT ALL
OUR TALL PINE TREES AND OUR SIDE
WOODS, BUT THE LORD GAVE US SUNSETS
AND BREEZES THAT MAKE IT WONDERFUL
TO SIT OUT THERE IN THE EVENING
 AFTER THESE SWELTERING
HOT FLORIDA DAY TEMPERATURES.
*
#6
I AM THANKFUL
WE NOW HAVE INSURANCE, IT FINALLY
KICKED IN THIS WEEK.  YEAH!!  LOL
*
#7
I AM THANKFUL
HUBBY HAD A PHONE INTERVIEW
AND IT WENT WELL,  BUT THEY EMAILED
HIM TODAY AND SAID HE HAD A VERY
GOOD RESUME AND GREAT SKILLS
BUT  DID NOT FIT THE POSITION
THEY WERE TRYING TO FILL..
IT IS ALWAYS NICE TO AT LEAST
HAVE SOMEONE BE INTERESTED.
THAT DID NOT HAPPEN AT ALL LAST
TIME UNTIL 9 MONTHS OUT OF WORK.
*
#8
I AM THANKFUL
HUBBY WAS NOT BUMMED BY THAT,
IN FACT, I THINK WE WERE BOTH
A LIL RELIEVED  THIS WAS NOT THE
LORD'S CHOICE FOR HIM AS IT WAS
A LONG COMMUTE,  AND WE ARE
 PRAYING FOR SOMETHING CLOSER
TO HOME.
*
*
#9
I AM THANKFUL
THAT I HAVE GOTTEN RID OF A
TON OF MAGAZINES,  AND TAKEN
A LOT OF NEAT PICTURES. CLEAN
UP IS GOING WELL.
*

#12
I AM THANKFUL
THAT THE LORD IS TEACHING ME
PATIENCE WITH THIS ARM SITUATION.
IT IS SOME BETTER, JUST TAKING IT'S
SWEET TIME, I MUST SAY!!
(THIS ONE IS A SACRIFICE OF PRAISE)
AFTER ALL, THE LORD SAYS TO GIVE
 THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES,
THIS IS HIS WILL FOR US

  1. HELLO NELLIE,
THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUL POST AND IT SAID SO VERY MUCH WITHOUT SAYING MUCH, IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE.
I THINK IT DOES DO US GOOD TO SET DOWN AND LIST THE THINGS WE ARE THANKFUL FOR.
I PRAY YOUR HUSBAND FINDS THE PERFECT JOB THAT GOD HAS FOR HIM AND NOT FAR FROM HOME.
YOU ARE SUCH A BLESSING NELLIE.

  4. Yes, you did hear a loud amen over here. And also some softer ones for all of your points of praise this week. You are one awesome lady, Miss Nellie, and such a positive force for good in this world. May you live to be 110! Be well.

    Love and hugs,

  5. God's Nature is sooooo beautiful!
#1. I'm thankful for your Thankful Thursday posts too! It makes me stop and think outside of myself!
#2. Your yard is gorgous! After the hurricanes, my acreage was cleared! However, there is wildlife occurring all around. Sandhill cranes, scrub jays, hawks, rabbits, and of all things 2 ferrel cats. They never have bothered with the wildlife. Since there is a pizza place behind me, I don't see rats anymore!! The hawks used to fly down and catch them!
#3. I have been having a lot of beetles this year in the back yard. I think this is what the jays are feeding on. I haven't seen my hummingbirds since my hibiscus haven't grown back to full height as yet. In the front, I have plenty of bull ants down at the end of my drive! I feel bad evey time I go out the gate! I hope I don't run over any of them.
#4. Birds are the main wildlife I hear. (Cranes, jays, hawks near the lake, etc.) Of course since the woods have been removed, I get much noise from the roadway, especially the tracker/trailers when they gear down!
#5. The breeze does blow across the open field! It is usually hot, but cools quickly in the evening. Your back yard is probably much cooler due to the trees and beautiful undergrowth bushes, ferns, and flowers.
#6. Praise the LORD, I jumped for joy when I read number 6!!!
#7. The LORD has just His spot for Jimmy! I do thank God that Jim doesn't have to travel the I-4 "bumper car" roadway anymore! Just the last few days there have been many wrecks, and a couple fatalities.
#8. I pray Jim's new job will keep him in his own backyard!! (At least 4-towns, 15 minutes to work, etc. "Okay, LORD?")
#9. OHHHH! You should have let me known! Kindergarten uses a lot of magazines, especially the ones you use with the housekeeping, outside, etc!
#10. When we love on Jim, we love on you too!
#11. This is one blogger friend YOU started!! Ha!
#12. Prayers are being lifted. It seems as we get older, some pains never go away. (I'm not talking about me, now, lol!) Get well soon!
    I love you all,
    Susie
