Help for Adversity - Part 8 - proclaiming God's goodness

Afternoon Sweet Peas,

How are you this beautiful Monday?
At least, I hope your Monday is beautiful!!

It is truly a gorgeous Florida day here, a cool breezy 80 degrees,
but doesn't seem hot at all.  We have the windows and the french
doors open, and it is like bringing the outside in.
Loving it!!

I am so late posting today cause I slept till 10:00 catching up
on a lot of lost sleep,  then our son came to get his cell phone
cause he forgot it last night,  and also to spray the yard again
since he didn't get to yesterday.
We very rarely see him on weekdays let alone in the daytime,
but he didn't have a lot of work to do today.
So I made us all a nice breakfast and it was a  sweet and
unexpected pleasure.

Had a very nice weekend as well.  Friday night we watched
a movie called "Billy, the early years".  It was about the life
of Billy and Ruth Graham and it truly was a Wonderful
movie, almost like a romantic comedy in a lot of places.
We would highly recommend it,  got it from Netflix.

Saturday it was rainy and icky,  so we stayed in and just
putz'd around.  I made lasagna and set the table for hubbies
family birthday celebration, while hubby looked for jobs
online.  Then Sunday was Sunday School and church
and a smoothie for lunch,  then the kids and my SIL
came over in the afternoon...........  it was a good
time had by all,  as always.  Will show you his table
on Wed. for Tablescape Thursday.

Guess I better get on with Monday Manna......
Just seems like so long since I have blogged....lol
and always miss you guys.

Well,  today is...............
Tip

Remember always that God has your best interest
at heart, and He has very good reasons for why He
does what He does.  Many of which we have already
talked about, but many we could never understand
in a million years because we are just finite human
beings trying to understand a divine infinite God.
Some things we just have to accept as God's
wisdom.  He created it all,  it is His to do with as
he chooses.  That is why He is God and not us!!

The scripture says in,

Isaiah 55:9
"As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my
ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than
 your thoughts."

Psalm 84:11
 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;
the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing
does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Tip

Remember that as you begin to see the good coming
out of your situation to be sure to tell others about it,
so they can be encouraged as well.

1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances, for this is
God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Revelation 12:11
They overcame him (the enemy of our soul) by the
 blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;

It is a very good practice to get into the habit of
praising God for everything you can think of.
One friend (Patty over at Fill my cup...with beauty)
told me that during a long layoff for her husband
the Lord told her to make a list of 5 things everyday
to be thankful for, and that it helped keep her out
of the ditch.

That is one of the reasons I do a Thankful Thursday
post,  I learned that quite awhile back myself, it not
only helps others, but it helps me stay focused on the
good thing in my life and probably helps me as much
or more than anyone,  and truthfully,  I don't notice
the bad things so much anymore.

As Bonnie, (over at one designing woman) says,
it is hard to be unhappy when you are having
a grateful heart.  How True!!

In our world today,  folks desperately need to hear
some Good News,  I love to hear of good things
that happen to people..... like my  2 dear friends who
were healed of cancer and our other friend who almost
died and has no residual affects,  they are all  wonderful
answers to prayer and show that God answers prayers,
and also builds the faith of others who have been praying,
and again, makes you remember and cherish  the reality
of Christ in our lives.

Our pastor just shared another wonderful story of
God's goodness and healing yesterday about his
daughter's pregnancy.  Just a few months in, the
Drs. told her the baby had some very severe
problems, a myriad of heart problems and a
dead kidney,  and 8 Drs. told her she should
terminate her pregnancy.  She refused, and they
sent her to a specialist that could do in utero
surgery on the baby.  The day before she was
to go for the surgery,  she went to church and
had the elders annoint and pray for her,
as in accordance with

 James 5:15
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the
church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name
of the Lord.  And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick
person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned,
 he will be forgiven.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each
other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous
 man is powerful and effective.

Not only the elders prayed for her but the entire church did,
and the next day she went to the hospital in another city to
have the surgery done.
They had some last minute tests to do,  and this was the first
time I guess the surgeon had seen her,  so after the test,
he asked the Mother, why are you here??
and she said because my baby has all these hearts problems
and guess she listed them,  and the Dr. said there is nothing
wrong with your babies heart it is perfect.

Then when she went back home she found out from the
other Dr. there was nothing wrong with the babies kidney
either. When she delivered the baby he weighed less
that 3 pds, and was a baby boy. Today that baby boy,
is 12 years old,  with no health issues at all, and doing
wonderfully well.
The Power of the Risen Christ!!

Everyone needs to hear how He works in our daily
lives,  and how He works in the small, medium and
large and gargantua situations of life.

But we need to be faithful to Thank Him in all things,
and to be sure and tell people the good things
that happen,  Lord knows there is enough bad
news............and why is it so much easier to give
bad news than good???

As believers, we really need to work at being the
bearer of good news rather than bad news.
No body has a problem free life,  but sometimes
we can act like we are the only one that ever has a
problem.  All we need to do is take a look around
us and we can always see someone in a way worst
situation that we are in. If only... we spent as much
time reciting and being thankful for the good things
in our lives as we spend on complaining and reciting
the bad things,
what a transformed world it would be!!

Then we will truly bring honor and glory to the Lord!

Something to think about................

Thanks for coming by and if you
missed Part  7,

Hugs and Warm Florida Blessings,
Nellie

Your thankful lists helped me me to the see the good in everything and I thank you for that.

As I continue my walk I have become a more positive and encourager person because of you. You are a great example of the work of Jesus.

  8. Nellie,
Wow , what you said couldn't have been better timing. This last week was really hard for me and I was have to "remember always that God has your best interest at heart. and He has very good reasons for why He does what He does. Some things we just have to accept as God's wisdom. He created it all, it is His to do with as he chooses. That is why He is God and not us!!" I am not sure if you have ever seen the skit called God's Chisel if not you should youtube it. This last week I memorized Ps. 130:5 in Spanish for phonics class. I am glad that I have HOPE!!! Love you
