THIS WEEK!!

7 comments:

  1. What breaths of fresh air you share, Nellie!
#1. I am so glad and thankful too, that our Almighty God knows all. I can not live without His daily love, grace, mercy, salvation and guidance in my life.
#2. God's plans for you are going to be great. I always find the hardest thing is having the patience to wait and see His Mighty Hand work!
#3. Personal time is so important, even more so with the ones we love. That's kind of like our LORD. He is strongest in us when we are in His Will of humbleness, prayer, and awaiting His guidance.
#4. Sharing with friends is so important. I so enjoy my time when I share with Sylvia; catching up on the blessings in her life with her children and grandchildren.
#5. "Honor thy parents" brings blessings both ways!!
#6. I am so glad you are sleeping better. Losing sleep can really mess up your "inner clock." I have been having severe pain with my right foot's toes. I think I may have to see a foot doctor for a "hammer toe." It only happens when I have been standing for a long time. They go numb and throb!
#7. I have gotten into the "slushy" drinks. I like the smooth icy taste. The only problem is I don't know what the sugar amount is. I hope it isn't loaded with too much.
#8. Through my Bible study (which became 2 hrs. or more this summer) the LORD really showed me where the joy is...Him. He also led me to pray for my students and their parents. I have a couple of siblings from previous years. The parents are always so excited to share they requested me. Today's "Meet the Teacher" was just so special. It was a joy to see the parents and they really enjoyed sharing their sweet children. When we keep our eyes on the LORD, He blesses all we do and even those around us. My prayer this year is that those parents that don't know the LORD, will see His Glory in me, and not me myself and question in a manner I can share His love for them.
#9. I praise our Father God every day for the love Jim has for you, and the love you have for Jim. What a blessing from the LORD to share a life that God has so richly been involved with.
#10. You know? I bet Rosie enjoys her visits just as much. She always is so happy.
#11. I can hardly wait when we get to play it at future get togethers!
#12. I can definately identify with that. When a new teacher at school came up to me and said, "I was in your Kindergarten class!" I looked in my class pictures from over the last 33 years, and sure enough, there she was from 1993! What joy it was! She is so excited as am I too!
I love you all very much!
    Love, Susie

  2. Nellie,

Wonderful list this week - but I am especially grateful for your number one...and knowing that, yes, our God is in control. Not even knowing exactly where Jordan is at this moment, I simply must remember that he is never out of God's control - and care! It really does bring peace - and help me sleep at night!:) Thanks for your comforting comments - and your sweet prayers.

Hope you and your hubbie have a wonderful weekend...full of special moments of fellowship (as you are prone to do!) :) We have dinner plans with new friends tomorrow - exciting!! Hugs, Jennifer

  3. Hi Nellie!

Thanks for your sweet comments about my quilted table accessories! That was very...well, SWEET of you. LOL

As soon as you mentioned teaching the younger generation about setting memorable tables, I knew EXACTLY who you were talking about! Doesn't Cherry Kay do a beautiful job?

You, too, did a beautiful job on your birthday table for your friend. Your roses on the napkins matched the centerpiece perfectly.

Here's to many, many more fun tablescapes!

    fondly,
    Rett

  5. I am so thankful for you, Nellie. I am sorry I have been so flakey in the comments department. I am trying to find my rhythm in blogging since Jim has been home. To go from a hubby around about 3 hours a day to 24 is an adjustment in terms of how I spend my time.

I have realized how much time I use to spend just thinking about what I would blog about, etc. Now it is sometimes hard for me to get uninterrupted time to string two thoughts together. LOL!

Anyway, in spite of that I am so thankful for this time we are having together. It is really like a 2nd honeymoon. We just play and talk and work together and talk some more and even are learning to relax a little. It is like falling in love all over again. We are finally able to give our relationship the time to nurture what was has always been there amidst the chaos of earth life. God is so wonderful to give us this time. I love it and Him!

I am thankful that some of the stresses I saw in our kids lives are resolving some and they are all looking forward to school starting and a new routine being established.

I am thankful that aside from our aches and pains we are both healthy.

I am thankful we had food to give someone who couldn't afford to put milk in her baby's bottle this morning.

I am thankful to the Lord for his watchful care over all of us.

I am thankful for prayer and scripture study that gives us such peace and hope.

I am thankful for a home we love and love to share with others as we did last night in hosting the celebration a young couple's marriage.

I am thankful that I can call any of the kids and e-mail and Skype with them and blog with them ever single day if I want to. It makes the distance between us bearable. I am thankful that though modern day technology I can be friends with you, Becky and now Susie.

I could go on and on, I am thankful for all of our blessing and recognize they all come from a loving Heavenly Father.

Love you, Nellie, don't give up on me! I'm just trying to find my way again.

    Hugs, B
