WELCOME TO THANKFUL THURSDAY - AUGUST 26, 2010

HELLO SWEET ENCOURAGERS,

SO....WHAT HAS YOUR DAY
BEEN LIKE???

ARE YOU FEELING THANKFUL
OR ARE YOU IN NEED OF SOME
 ENCOURAGEMENT??

WELL...........EITHER WAY YOU
 CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!!

IT WAS ACTUALLY SUNNY HERE
THIS MORNING BUT NOW THAT IT IS
 LATE AFTERNOON,  IT IS LOOKING
LIKE MORE RAIN.  SO GLAD WE GOT
OUT EARLY THIS MORNING AND
GOT THE LAWN MOWED.
  SO GUESS MY FIRST THANKFUL
WILL BE.......
*
#1
I AM THANKFUL
WE FINALLY GOT OUR LAWN MOWED.
IT HAS BEEN RAINING EVERYDAY SO
WE WERE OVERDUE BY A FEW DAYS,
BUT IT WASN'T AS BAD AS I THOUGHT
IT WOULD BE.

*
#2
I AM THANKFUL
THAT OUR SON GOT THE NEW JOB,
AND WILL BEGIN ON SEPT. 7TH.
OUR WHOLE FAMILY IS REJOICING!!

KNOW YOU ARE PROBABLY SICK
OF HEARING ABOUT IT BY NOW,
BUT HAVE TO SAY WHAT'S TRUE!!  LOL
*
#3
I AM THANKFUL
THAT JIM HAD A PHONE INTERVIEW
THIS WEEK.  DON'T KNOW THE OUT
COME OF THAT YET,  BUT IT WAS GREAT
FOR HIM TO HAVE SOMEONE SHOW AN
INTEREST, EVEN IF IT DOESN'T PAN OUT,
YET IT COULD POSSIBLY PAN OUT TOO!!

GOTTA SAY HOW I REALLY FEEL ABOUT
THIS ONE TOO!!
KEEP GOING THE REST ARE NEW!!  LOL
*
#4
I AM THANKFUL
FOR THE WAY THE LORD TAKES CARE
OF OUR NEEDS,  AND FOR THE VARIOUS
MEANS AND AVENUES HE USES THAT
WE CAN JUST NEVER EXPECT OR IMAGINE.
WHICH LEADS ME TO MY NEXT THANKFUL.
*
#5
I AM THANKFUL
FOR PUBLIX SUPERMARKETS AND THEIR
PRESCRIPTION ANTIBIOTIC PROGRAM
WHERE YOU CAN GET CERTAIN
 ANTIBIOTICS FOR FREE.
WHAT A BLESSING!!

JUST FOR YOUR INFO I THINK WALMART
DOES IT TOO,  BUT THEY COST JUST $4.00.
THAT IS IN FLORIDA, SO DON'T KNOW IF
THEY DO IT IN OTHER STATES OR NOT,
BUT WOULD THINK THEY PROBABLY
WOULD.

*
#6
I AM THANKFUL
FOR OUR VEHICLES IN WHICH WE ARE
ABLE TO TRAVEL ABOUT IN,  CAUSE I
SEE MANY PEOPLE ALONG THE ROAD
CATCHING THE BUS,  AND WITHOUT
A CAR THAT WOULD BE US, AS WELL.
*
#7
I AM THANKFUL
FOR AIR CONDITIONING NOT ONLY
IN OUR CAR,  BUT IN OUR HOME, I
REMEMBER, ONLY TOO WELL,  HOW
MISERABLE IT WAS WITHOUT AIR
 DURING THESE HOT AUG./SEPT. MOS.
6 YEARS AGO WHEN WE HAD THE 3
HURRICANES IN A ROW, AND OUR
POWER WAS OUT FOR A WEEK.  IT WAS
SO HOT..... I COULD HARDLY SLEEP
ESPECIALLY SINCE I WAS IN THE
 MIDDLE OF "HOT FLASH LAND".
 HUBBY, BLESS HIS HEART,  WOULD
FAN ME TO TRY AND HELP ME
 GET TO SLEEP!!

SO AGAIN,  I HAVE TO SAY
*
#8
I AM THANKFUL
FOR WHAT A SWEET AND THOUGHTFUL
HUBBY THE LORD HAS BLESSED ME
WITH,   HE IS TRULY A JEWEL.
*
#9
I AM THANKFUL
THAT WE HAVE HAD NO HURRICANE
THREATS THIS YEAR,  FOR THAT IS BLISS!!

  ESPECIALLY HAVING EXPERIENCED
ALL THOSE HURRICANES 6 YRS AGO,
AND CHARLIE BEING SUCH A SCARY STORM.
HE LEFT A LOT OF DAMAGE IN OUR YARD,
AND SPAWNED A TORNADO RIGHT NEXT
TO OUR HOUSE,  WHICH WAS A LOT FULL
OF PINE TREES AT THE TIME.  IT TWISTED
OFF THE TOP OF THE TREES AND PUT THEM
GUESS WHERE??   IN OUR BACKYARD.
IF THAT TORNADO HAD BEEN JUST A
LIL BIT CLOSER,  I MIGHT
NOT BE TYPING THIS RIGHT NOW!!

*
#10
I AM THANKFUL
THAT WE ARE STILL HERE!!  LOL
WHICH IS REALLY NO LAUGHING
MATTER!!
AND #9 REMINDED ME OF THE
NEXT ONE.
*
#11

  2. Hi Nellie..
I'm grateful you can find so many things to be happy about.
I'm thankful for my health and my family's health... and my furbabies health too..:)
I'm grateful for my rights as a US citizen to choose whats best for me and mine--most of the time anyway:)
I'm very grateful for my friends who care about me when I am in a great mood or not.

I am wishing you all kinds of happiness.

    hugs
    Sonny

  3. Oh, yes, I'm certainly rejoicing with you that your son got that job and that Jim had an interview. Sure hope the Lord grants him favor with that interviewer and opens wide the door.

Last July, our car bit the dust, and it was totally not in the budget to buy a new one. So, we spent 8 months (!!!) as a single-car family. It was difficult to say the least, so I understand what you mean about being thankful for a car. Of course, we had to sell our camper in order to afford to buy a car without going into debt, but we're okay with that. We definitely needed a car more than we needed a camper.

Yes, I'm glad it's been an easy hurricane season this year. With my in-laws right there on the Space Coast, we are always quite anxious when we hear of any storms heading that way.

I am thankful for a fun weekend with my daughter. Hubs and son went fishing/camping (tent camping!!) for the weekend, so it's just a girl's weekend. Time for a movie marathon!!

    Have a fabulous weekend.

    Love,
    Patti

  4. I've been thinking about your hubby's situation and praying he will be gainfully employed soon! We've been there twice...and I have to say I don't want to do it again anytime soon...but they were great times of stretching in the faith, as I'm sure you know yourself. God is faithful and there is something very sweet about really and truly knowing how much our very existence and all that we have is dependent upon HIM. I have been a little bit "down" lately so I guess I need to honestly say what I'm the most thankful for today is that my security in Christ doesn't depend upon my ups and downs or my feelings or what I do well or on my ability to focus on my blessings all the time. He is not only capable but very willing to love me in spite of myself, and keep me safe through anything that I may be dealing with in this life. Just this week we received a refund from our gas company of too much credit we had built up...yesterday we had to use half of it on a major repair for my hubby's car. But praise the Lord He provided that "just in time"! So I'm very thankful for that blessing as well.

  5. #1. I am so thankful that George (my neighbor) mows my yard (front and back!) I came home today to a newly mowed yard. Later it was covered with blackbirds eating the bugs in the grass.
#2. I am so thankful for Scott too! I have been thanking the LORD everyday in my devotions.
#3. The LORD took His time with Scott! I hope that time is shorter with Jim finding out about his interview!
#4. I am thankful for the LORD answering my prayer for one of my students. I'm still waiting on the LORD to answer my prayers for two others!
#5. I'm thankful Publix is so close and that parking isn't a big problem!
#6. Amen! Every morning on my way to work, I see a mom and her two young children with their backpacks, waiting at a public transit bus stop.
#7. AMEN again! I don't know how we ever did without air conditioning! I remember in the Keys there was some time that we only had fans at night!
#8. I am thankful for a loving sister-in-law and brother!
#9. I am thankful the hurricanes now in the Atlantic are headed in a direction that won't bring it to the states.
#10. Me too! I remember being in the inner room kitchen. I moved in my three bird's cages; the dogs around my feet and my cat lay in my lap! There I sat for the night. The roaring and darkness seemed like it would never end! Praise God for His protection.
#11. I pray nothing ever happens to them all that we can no longer have their services!
#12. I got my hair done today by Melitta. You will never guess what happened. When I got there, I realized I didn't have my wallet or cell phone! I had left them by my computer when I renewed my cell phone service on-line. I am so glad I was not stopped for some reason by the police! I had no ID on me other than my school ID badge! This is the first time this has ever happened! I have never done that before! Melitta was so sweet. She said for me to pay her next week. I told her I would pay her tomorrow when I go out to do my errands! She was persuasive in telling me to pay her next week when I go again.

    I love you all,
    Susie
