HAVE A RIGHT THINKING SUNDAY!!

HOPE THIS FINDS YOU
REFRESHED, RELAXED,
AND FULL OF PEACE AND JOY

WANTED TO TELL YOU ABOUT A
REALLY GREAT MOVIE WE RENTED.
IT IS BASED ON A TRUE STORY AND
WE JUST THOUGHT IT WAS SO GOOD,
IT IS AN OLDER FILM, SO YOU MIGHT 
HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT, BUT IT IS REALLY
GOOD ENOUGH FOR A 2ND VIEWING IN THIS
WOMAN'S HUMBLE OPINION.
IT IS CALLED
"EXTRAORDINARY  MEASURES".

IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT,  I SERIOUSLY
THINK YOU WILL ENJOY IT!!

THE SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY IS
PHILIPPIANS 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true,
 whatever is noble, whatever is right,
 whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
 whatever is admirable—if anything 
is excellent or praiseworthy—think
 about such things.

WE ALL KNOW THAT THERE IS 
MUCH WRONG WITH OUR COUNTRY
 AND WORLD, AND NONE OF US ESCAPE
PROBLEMS,DIFFICULTIES,OR SICKNESS.
*
BUT I BELIEVE THIS VERSE IS KEY
TO LIVING A LIFE OF JOY, IN THESE
 TRYING TIMES.  WE HAVE TO LOOK
AND SOMETIMES SEARCH DILIGENTLY
 FOR GOOD THINGS TO THINK ABOUT
RATHER THAN FOCUSING ON ALL THE 
BAD THAT IS HAPPENING.

ARE YOU SAYING WE ARE SUPPOSE TO
JUST PRETEND IT'S NOT HAPPENING???
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
*
BUT WE CAN DECIDE AND CHOOSE WHAT
 WE ARE GONNA FOCUS OUR ATTENTION 
ON, THAT IS CALLED SETTING YOUR MIND.
WE CAN CHOOSE TO SET OUR MINDS ON
THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD, AND ON THE
GOOD THINGS GOD IS DOING IN AND
AROUND US, AND WE CAN BEGIN TO 
COUNT OUR BLESSINGS RATHER THAN
 OUR WOES.

DECIDING TO CHOOSE TO SET YOUR
MIND ON THE RIGHT THINGS IS A 
VERY GOOD THING........
AND IT MIGHT JUST CHANGE YOUR
LIFE IN AMAZING WAYS!!

    Thank you Nellie for this encourgaging post. I have long believed that his scripture is the KEY to the contentment God longs for us to have...
    "Setting our minds" on the good and excellent things of GOD, including the Hope of Glory that awaits us if we just persevere.
    No matter how disappointed or hurt we feel, we can always choose to think about JESUS and His worthiness. I hope you have a great day!

  2. Those are certainly words to live by and not always easy...there are times you really have to work at changing what you are thinking/dwelling on. It is always a process, isn't it? Have a wonderful day.

  3. That is so true! I love that and have been able to live by that belief for the last few of years. It was slow and hard getting there but totally worth it when you can relax once you've mastered the thinking! It's still lots of work to keep that thinking going when so much evil tries to penetrate your life. But I'm sticking with God and I know in the end he'll set everything to right!
    Your prayers worked! My neck is so much better! I've also been doing some relaxing neck exercise. But I think your extra prayer is what did the trick! I'll try to be more careful and watch my posture. Hopefully it stays away. Talk about a pain in the neck!

  4. Nellie, You are absolutely right! We need to choose what we think about and God says to think about the pure and lovely things. We cannot change a lot of what's wrong in the world - why fret and worry about it? I do think we need to pray about it and give it to God. He is in control. Hope you are feeling better.   5. Yes, "think" about these things; but the things that need prayer is right the opposite
    I praise God for His WORD. It focuses on more about man's problems (sin) than it does man's righteousness (for there is none that is righteous.) We need to know what's going on in the world in order to lift up prayers to our Almighty God; but our focus shouldn't be one of obsession on the problem; rather, our obsession should be praying to our Almighty God. I often wonder why bad things happen to God's people. I believe these things happen to "open the eyes" of those who are not remembering who God Is and to pray for those caught up in the sins of the world. In this day and age, there is nothing we can really do, but pray and know what to pray for by what is happening around us.

    That's why this country's in the trouble it is now. Christians have denied anything wrong was or is happening and the evil of sin has America now sinking like a ship at sea. Yes, God wants us to be happy, but not at the expense of denying His Truth. America is crumbling and just now "some" Christians are starting to speak out. My prayers are, that our prayers aren't too late against the sin in our country.

    A happy thought to end this is, Jack Van Impe said don't worry about an economic collapse. For the people that is keeping that from happening is the working Christians! The collapse will happen when we disappear in the Rapture!

    Paul said to keep striving for that goal of one day being in the presence of the LORD. However, that means not only Praising God for Good things, but not forgetting to pray for those things that need to be changed.

    One of my friends said to me one time, "We can't just live in our 'Ivory Towers of Praise,' yet deny the need of prayers for those that live in the 'Trash heaps of the World.'" That can be the poor, the rich, politicians, or even those that call themselves Christians, but really don't know the Truth thereof.

    I can't thank and praise my God enough for what He has done for me. I find myself even in the night when I turn over in my slesp thanking Him for His Love. I find myself praying, not for myself, but for everyone He brings to my mind. That can be those I see on t.v., people I encounter during the day or at church, my students and parents, my family (you), it is ongoing. I guess this is what God means by "Pray without ceasing!"

    Thank our LORD that the Joy of this life will be made perfect in Heaven and the Trials will never be again!

    Love this post, gal! And it is a verse that I really strive to practice continually. It makes all the difference. Like the song says, if we turn our eyes upon Him, "the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace".

  7. I love that you quoted this scripture. It is the 13th article of faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is just beautiful and is so truly a road to happiness and contentment. We try to strive for it in all we do and it does help so much.

    I hope your shoulder continues to improve.
