(Some Springs Scenes from my Living Room from last year)

Hello Sweet Friends,


How are you this fine day??
Hope your weather is better than ours.


It has been raining like crazy all day
with lots of thunder and lightning to go along
with it.  Hubby said this day was for 
a duck.........


Which brings me to my first thankful

I am thankful

that hubby had a job interview today with

 another Company....... that is why he said

 it was a day for a duck.....

to interview that is!! lol

He had to leave in the pouring rain, so
fortunately, we have a beach umbrella,
so I was able to walk him to the car
with that and kept him fairly dry, the

when he arrived there it started pouring 
again, but fortunately, he arrived a lil
early so he was able to wait a few mins.,
and it did let up some, and was able
to park right in front, and he also has one
 of those shirts with the new fabric that
is fairly water repellent, the water just
 beads up on the outside,  so that was good!!
We didn't even realize that!!  

 The interview was just a wee bit disappointing

 as he only got to speak with someone in HR,

 but no techie folks, and then they gave him

 some sort of brain teaser type test!  Always

something new to look forward to....lol

Have to say tho, it was almost amazing the

way he got the interview so quickly or at

all really!!

Because he applied on Tuesday, got a

call first thing Wednesday and went in

for the interview today,  and it came

thru career builder, I think, and he has

never gotten one interview from the

online services, this time or the last

time he was laid off.

But, hey, we are thankful for it any

way you slice it, cause it is progress!!

and we know who is in control of

doling out his jobs!!


Update: They just called and said
they want him to come back for an
another interview on Monday and he
passed the silly test with flying colors!!
Whoo Hoo!!

I am thankful

for a sweet visit from the wife

of a young couple we were counseling

back in the fall. She was saying they had

planned on coming back after the baby came,

  but they are doing so well, they don't need to.

Isn't that Great!!

Just what we love to hear!!
The Lord gave him a new job that was more 
family friendly too and I really think that took 
care of a lot of the problems, and they were
very excellent students!! 

She brought us a very lovely thank you card

along with a Target Gift card!!

How Precious!!

The Card and the Fact that they are doing

so well... is Thanks enough for us, but it
was so appreciated.

for my wonderful family. 
  They spoiled this lady royally, and

it meant the world to me.

 emails, comments from bloggy friends,

 phone calls, and cards I rec'd

for my birthday,

It was truly overwhelming..... but in
 a

very good way!

My love tank is beyond overflowing!!

and My week has been a lil heaven on earth.

I am thankful

that hubby just got more work from
his old company.  Something crashed....
unfortunately for them......  but they need
him to fix it, so that is good news for us!!

for the rain we got this week,  cause

our yard really needed it and really

liked it....much greener, kicking in that

slow release fertilizer Scott put down.

I am thankful
for the sweet time I had with Dee

while we were getting our pedicures
 together,  it was a lot of fun and very
 relaxing, and I love getting my feet in
 great shape for spring especially now that 
everyone wears sandal type shoes for
 casual or dress!!


  I was introduced to my first pedicure 5 years
 ago, by Dee who took me for my birthday, 
 and it is a gift I love,  so we do it almost
 every year now.  One year we got facials,

but to be honest...I prefer the pedicure.

that we got to keep Joey our
 grandaughter dog this week.

(This has a photoshop affect on it, probably paint daubs)

I am thankful
for the new book Jimmy got me for
my birthday called "Heaven is for
real".  It is truly an awesome book.
we are 3 quarters of the way done thru
it and we just started on Monday.
It is easy reading tho I have to admit,
 but we are so enjoying it!!

I am thankful
that hubby now enjoys reading 
books a lot more now.  Some years
back while on vacation I started
reading to him,  and he really liked
it and we have been doing that for
years now, and he even reads to me
now too!  How cool is that!!

for the Lord's incredible faithfulness
to us, he just never ceases to amaze.

I am thankful
for the sweet smelling aroma in my 
backyard ruminating from our honey
suckle vines, they truly smell divine.
Course, after all the rain, they aren't
looking to swell now!!  lol


Did you ever pull the stamen out of
one of their petals and eat the nectar??


It tastes sweet,  we used to do that all
the time as kids, and once in awhile
I still have to go out and do it!!  lol

Tablescape Thursday - My Birthday table done by hubby

Hello Sweet Friends,

How are you doing today???

Very Well,  I hope!

It has been a great week around here so far.

My actual birthday was yesterday, so I got to go 

with my daughter to get a pedicure last night,

while hubby and her fiancee hung out,  then we

 ate Mexican food,  it was a very nice evening.

Well,  wanted to show you a few shots I was

able to get of the birthday table hubby did!!

He did really well,  he got all the silverware in the right place,

as well as the bowls!~!   Good going honey!!

I love peach,  so it was a peach and green

 tablescape.

These were the lovely carnations we got at

Sam's,  I thought they were so pretty with the

yellow touched in pinky peach.  So Pretty!

A nice look at the centerpiece.  Those lil urns are

holding candles in case you can't tell!!  

I love these napkins because you can fold them 

differently to show different fruit or flowers giving

 you a different look.

One way they look like in the above picture,

  another they have grapes and you can accent 

purple or lavendar,  and another way they have

 raspberries with that pretty raspberry pink color. 

 So they are nice and versatile.

Thought you might like to see inside the urn,

  the clear glass is repurposed!!

It is the top of a yankee candle jar, with

the plastic removed.  

The family made me a delightful dinner,

it felt like I was eating in a fine dining

restaurant for sure!!

Happy Monday -My Birthday Celebration

HAPPY MONDAY TO YOU SWEET FRIENDS,

HOPE YOU HAD A FANTASTIC WEEKEND.

I HAVE TO SAY MINE TRULY WAS SWEET!

FRIDAY NIGHT WE WATCHED A GREAT MOVIE WE GOT FROM

NETFLIX, CALLED "STANDING FIRM".  IT WAS ANOTHER MOVIE

MADE BY A CHURCH BUT NOT THE CHURCH IN GEORGIA THAT

DID "FIREPROOF" AND 2 OTHERS, BUT A CHURCH FROM

 NEW YORK.  SOME OF THE CHARACTERS WERE BASED ON

THE LIFE OF THE WRITER, SO MUCH, OF IT WAS TRUE.  

IT WAS ABOUT A MAN WHO'S WIFE DIED AND HOW HE LOST

HIS FAITH IN GOD, BUT HE HAD A SON WHO DIDN'T GIVE UP

ON HIM.  I TELL YOU THE BEHIND THE SCENES STORY ABOUT

THE MAKING OF THE MOVIE WAS AS GOOD AS THE MOVIE

ITSELF.  WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT - BE PREPARED TO BE

INSPIRED, AND MAKE SURE YOU WATCH ALL THE BEHIND 

THE SCENES INFO TOO!!

SATURDAY WE WENT OUT TO GET SPECIFIC FOOD ITEMS

FOR MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION ON SUNDAY.  WHILE

AT SAM'S  WE ALSO SAW SOME GORGEOUS CARNATIONS 

THAT HUBBY BOUGHT ME, THAT I ARRANGED TO PUT ON

THE TABLE.  THEN WHILE I MADE US AN EASY DINNER,

 HUBBY MADE SKEWERS OF SHRIMP AND SCALLOPS FOR

 SUNDAY'S DINNER.  WE ALSO MADE A LIME, CILANTRO

AND GARLIC MARINADE TO PUT ON THE SHRIMP.

GOT THE KITCHEN AND HOUSE IN ORDER, AS I STILL HAD

 A FEW BOXES TO MOVE OUT AFTER I HAD FINALLY, 

FINISHED MY SPRING DECORATING ON FRIDAY.

SO WE WERE READY TO ROLL FOR SUNDAY!!

SUNDAY OF COURSE, WAS SUNDAY SCHOOL AND 

CHURCH, THEN OUR FAV SMOOTHIE AND THEN WE 

CAME HOME TO AWAIT THE ARRIVAL OF THE REST

OF THE FAMILY.  

I HAVE TO SAY IT WAS A NEAR PERFECT DAY AS FAR

 AS I WAS CONCERNED.  HUBBY AND FAMILY DID ALL

 THE FOOD.  FELT LIKE I WAS EATING AT THE BEST

 SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IN TOWN. THE SHRIMP

AND SCALLOPS TASTED AS GOOD IF NOT BETTER 

THAN ANY I HAD EVER HAD, AND THIS WAS THE 

FIRST TIME HUBBY EVER GRILLED SCALLOPS, SO 

BETWEEN HE AND SCOTT THEY MADE THEM

 PERFECTLY, DEE DID A GREAT JOB ON THE SALAD

 AND MADE MY GARLIC/PARMESAN SALAD DRESSING

TO GO WITH IT,  SCOTT DID THE BAKED POTATOES 

OUTBACK STYLE (HE WORKED THERE YEARS AGO

 WHILE IN COLLEGE, SO HE KNOWS  HIS STUFF), 

VERY TASTY TATERS.  TRULY IT WAS AN EXQUISITE

 MEAL, AND HUBBY EVEN SET THE TABLE PRETTY.

( I HELPED A TINY BIT WITH THE CENTERPC.)LOL

I MANAGED TO SNAG A FEW PICS OF THE TABLE,

AND WILL PUT THEM ON TABLETOP THURSDAY.

AND.............. THEY CLEANED UP ALL THE MESS
AND EVEN PUT AWAY ALL THE FOOD!!

OH, MY MOTHER'S HEART BE STILL!! LOL

THEN.......

THEY BLESSED MY HEART WITH THE LOVLIEST OF

CARDS, ALL TEAR WORTHY!!  LOL

A COOL BIRD CANDLEHOLDER, A GREAT NEW BOOK

TO READ, WHICH EXPLAINS THIS LATE POST, WE ARE

HAVING A HARD TIME PUTTING IT DOWN!!  A NEW

SHIRT, GIFT CERTICATES TO DILLARD'S, AND 

 FOR A PEDICURE, AND MOO-LAH!!  

THEN WE PLAYED 2 ROUNDS OF GUESSTURES,

ONE OF MY FAV GAMES. I LOVE WATCHING THEM

ACT THINGS OUT, THEY ARE ALL SO CUTE!!

THEN IT WAS TIME FOR DESSERT.......YIPPEE!!
 MY SISTER-IN-LAW MADE ONE

 OF MY FAVORITE DESSERTS, WALNUT BROWNIES

WHICH WE COMBINED WITH BLUE BUNNY

VANILLA FROZEN YOGURT! (IF YOU HAVE NEVER

TRIED IT,  I GUARANTEE YOU WILL LOVE IT, WE

CAN ONLY FIND IT AT WALLY WORLD BETTER

KNOW AS WALMART)  LOL

ALL I CAN SAY IS............

YUM UPON YUM.... LOL

 DID THEY SPOIL ME???

YOU BET THEY DID..........THEY NEVER CEASE 

TO AMAZE ME......ALL THESE SWEETIES THAT 

MAKE ME SOOO PROUD!!

I LOVE YOU GUYS AND AM SO GRATEFUL FOR YOU,

  JUST IN CASE YOU MIGHT JUST HAPPENED TO READ 

THIS.......PROBABLY NOT!!  LOL

AT LEAST I KNOW MY SIL SUSAN WILL....................

WELL, MY LOVE TANK IS FULL AND I FEEL LIKE

THE MOST LOVED LADY IN THE WORLD TODAY!!

HOPE YOU DIDN'T MIND INDULGING ME ON MY

BLOW BY BLOW BIRTHDAY FUN..........IT WAS

FUN RELIVING IT AGAIN!!  LOL

OH YEA,  FORGOT TO TELL YOU WHAT WE FOUND

OUT ON FRIDAY -  THEY STILL HAVE NOT HIRED

ANYONE FOR THE POSITION HUBBY WAS INTER-

VIEWED FOR 6 WEEKS AGO!!  SO ..............

WHO KNOWS, IT COULD STILL BE HIS JOB!!

EVENING SWEET FRIENDS,

HOPE YOUR THURSDAY WAS A GOOD ONE!

MINE WAS VERY GOOD, BUT BUSY AND IT

IS NOT EVEN 8 P.M. AND I FEEL WHIPPED,

COURSE THINK THAT IS BECAUSE I GOT UP 

AT 5:45 A.M.,  AND DUE TO ALLERGIES TO 

ALL THE OAK POLLEN ALL AROUND ME,

AND MY NECK...............WHAT CAN I SAY

BUT...... I AM A WRECK THIS WEEK!!  LOL

I STARTED THIS MORNING AS SOON AS I

WE BROKE OUT AN OLD MOVIE THIS WEEK SINCE

NETFLIX DOWNLOADS WEREN'T WORKING.  I HAD

FORGOTTEN HOW GOOD IT WAS, AND IT WAS SO

ENJOYABLE,  GUESS WHAT IT WAS?????

MEGAN'S MOM FINALLY FOUND A DRESS FOR

THE WEDDING THAT SHE IS HAPPY WITH.......

CAUSE IT IS NOT EASY TO FIND,  IT IS BLACK 

AND CREAM, BUT SHE IS STILL LOOKING TO

SEE IF SHE CAN FIND SOMETHING MORE

SPRINGY LOOKING.  AT LEAST, I  KNOW

I COULD WEAR MY BLACK SKIRT AND MY

 DRESSY PLUM BLOUSE IF NEED BE, BUT I AM 

CONTINUING MY SEARCH FOR SOMETHING

MORE SPRINGY,  REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE

HOW MANY BLACK DRESSES THERE ARE

OUT THERE FOR IT BEING SPRING!

ANY AND ALL PRAYERS WOULD BE 

GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I SAVED MOST OF SOME MONEY I GOT FOR

CHRISTMAS FOR SPRING........CAUSE YESTER-

DAY WE WENT TO MICHAEL'S AND I WAS ABLE

TO PICK UP A FEW NEW INSPIRATION PIECES.

AND IT WAS SUCH FUN!!

MY CHRISTMAS/ SPRING/BIRTHDAY PRESENT

 TO MYSELF!!  LOL

THAT MY SPRING DECORATING IS COMING

ALONG NICELY, SLOWER THAN I WOULD LIKE,

BUT AM HAPPY WITH IT!  THE NEW INSPIRATION

PIECES HAVE HELPED I MUST SAY.

THE FAMILY ROOM IS ALL DONE NOW, GOTTA

START ON THE DINING ROOM NOW.

THESE ARE MY FUN FINDS, 3 BUSHES OF DAISIES

FOR ANOTHER PROJECT I HAVE BEEN WANTING TO DO 

FOR QUITE AWHILE,  A LIL PINKWOODEN CARRIER

BASKET, CUTE LIL BIRD, SHE IS THE MAMA BIRD AND

BECKY GAVE ME HER DAUGHTER TODAY, THEY ARE

MUCH CUTER AS A PAIR, ANDA BAG OF EASTER EGGS 

THAT LOOK REAL, THEY ARE SUCH PRETTY COLORS.

GOT IT ALL FOR $11.00, INSTEAD OF $23.00.

NEXT WEEK I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT I HAVE BEEN

 UP TO AND WHAT I DID WITH EVERYTHING!

FOR THE LOVELY TIME TODAY THAT I GOT TO

 SPEND WITH BECKY FROM OVER AT HOLIDAY IN 

THE SUN, ACTUALLY, NOW IT IS FROM

 JUNK TO JOY,  I KEEP FORGETTING!

IT SEEMS LIKE AGES SINCE WE HAVE GOTTEN 

TOGETHER CAUSE SHE HAS HAD A FULL PLATE

AND ALSO HAD 2 FRIENDS MOVING AWAY, SO

 WE PUT OUR TIME ON THE BACK BURNER SO SHE

COULD SPEND TIME WITH THEM BEFORE THEY LEFT,

SO THAT MADE IT ALL THE MORE SPECIAL!!

AND ALSO THANKFUL FOR THE CUTE BABY BIRD!!

I HAVE FROZEN LASAGNA LEFTOVER FROM

HUBBIES BIRTHDAY, CAUSE IT WILL MAKE FOR

A DELICIOUS QUICK AND EASY DIN DIN, SO I

CAN GET ON WITH MY DECORATING!!  LOL

WORKED PERFECTLY W/ A SALAD.

FOR A NICE LONG CHAT I HAD WITH MY

SON THIS AFTERNOON.  SUCH A BLESSING

 WHEN THEY CALL YOU OUT OF THE BLUE.

ANOTHER WEEK OF GOD'S GOODNESS TO ME!

HOPE YOU HAVE SEEN GOD'S GOODNESS IN
