Welcome to Thankful Thursday - April 28, 2011

(From last spring)

proclaiming aloud your praise
and telling of all your wonderful deeds.
Psalm 26:7

Greetings Sweet Folks,

Hope your Thursday has been a good
one for you!!  I am amazed that it is
Thursday again already.  Is it just me,
or does the time just seem to be going
 quicker and quicker??

Well, tomorrow will be just 2 weeks till the
Wedding
which leads me to my first Thankful.

#1
 I am thankful
I was able to find a champagne colored
clutch purse to match with my shoes for
the wedding, and it was only $12.
It was originally $32, and was made
by Jessica McClintock, and it is perfect!
God is just so good!!
So I am as ready as I can be..............

#2
I am thankful
we discovered something was eating our large
bougainvilla plant Scott gave me for Mother's
day a few years back.  We think it might be
deer cause it is about 5 feet tall, and something
ate the top of it.  So am glad we could find
a new home for it, before he completely
destroyed it!!

This is the bougainvilla he was eating, only it
wasn't blooming this much yet, this is a pic
from last year too!!

#3
I am thankful
for the Lord's continued provision for us.
Hubby had some work again from his old
job, what a continued blessing that is!

#4
I am thankful
for Alleve Sinus medication.  Though I rarely
get sinus headaches like I used to.......they
can be almost debilating when I do get them,
and this stuff knocks them right out!!

#5
I am thankful
I have dropped about 3 pds. recently,  cause
I always seem to put a lil weight on over the
Winter months from all the coffee and tea drinking
I do, cause I like it with cream and sugar,  and
I drink quite a few a day,  so glad to see the
results leaving..............finally!! lol

(These are actually from a few years ago, but never used the pic,
so better late than never!! lol)

#6
I am thankful
we had ham for Easter dinner, cause #1, it was
delicious and #2 as we have been eating the
leftovers it has made me thirsty....and I have
been drinking water like a camel in the desert
and I really needed to get back to drinking
more water!!  So this has made it easy!!

#7
I am thankful
we got to keep Rosie for about 4 days last week.
Thursday thru Monday,  she is always such a joy
for us!!

#8
I am thankful
Dee came and did my hair for me on Monday
evening.  It is always nice to spend some one
on one time with her.

#9
I am thankful
for tablecloths, dishes, glasses, silverware
and napkins to set a pretty table.  That is such
a blessing of beauty and enjoyment to me and
my family and/or friends.

#10
I am thankful
our church is having a special prayer service
on May 5th for the National Day of Prayer.
If there is anything our country needs more,
It is certainly prayer!!

This is a magazine photo, compliments of
better homes and gardens,  I think!!

#11
I am thankful
that Dee has found another really good
photographer that she likes for her wedding
in October.  She had chosen one she really
wanted to use, but they didn't seem interested,
and she was of course, disappointed!
So great she has found another one.

#12
I am thankful
for God's beautiful world, the sky, the sun,
clouds, stars, flowers, trees, the beach, parks,
woods, and on and on it could go............
We just have to take the time to stop and
smell the roses, to see it all!

So glad you came by today.....
Hope you have joy
 in your heart today!!

Hope you will share with us,
What you are thankful
 for today too!

Have a frivilously fun Friday,
friends!!

Love,  Hugs,
and Joyful Blessings,
Nellie

Tablescape Thursday - Easter Table

Happy Fun Day Sweet Friends,

So how are ya today???
Doing better than a cat in a croaker sack???
Sure hope so....those croaker sacks can
get pretty itchy!!  lol

Thought I would show you our Easter
table.  This is always the most fun
part of the preparations for me.

I really didn't plan on using daisies,  really poms,
but they look like daisies, I was thinking of maybe
green hydrangeas but you'll see how it turned out to be
daisies later!

When I bought these napkins years back,  they only had
4 napkins but then they had kitchen towels that matched,
so I bought those thinking I would make them into napkins,
but just never did!!  So I used 2 towels for the center
of the table to add some color, along with the flowers,
some Easter eggs, and my 2 lil bunny figurines,
which you will see later too!

Here I was just starting out with the green
place mats and a my romantic plates, as I call them,
This is gonna be a guys placesetting.

Used the towels for the girls placesettings,
Just draped the towel over the plate and
tucked it under a little bit.

Then added a salad bowl of my wedding china.

Then added a fruit bowl.

As I am sure you can tell I am in process here!
Here you can see my bunny figurines,  at least the girl bunny,
and part of the boy!!  lol

Decided to do something different with the silverware,
so tied it with pretty organdy bows.  Just happened
to have 4 scrap pcs. of ribbon so did this for all
the girl's places.

I also decided to not use the bowls, but a bread plates
instead, and peach glasses for the girls.

Susan my SIL loaned me these pretty peachy pink glasses.
There were 2 different ones, that I used,  mainly cause
I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to use the peach
or just use clear,  so at the last minute I decided to
use peach for the girls and clear for the guys,  and I
only had 2 of each glasses,  just to try them,  so just
decided to use 2 different ones, and it looked great!

These lil green packets have candy in them,  of course!!

When I was trying to figure out how to make the lil candy
packets, the least expensive thing I could find in the color
I needed was tissue paper,  so then I found these
cut lil stick on daisies.  That was the deciding factor
for the flowers as well.  Dee got the flowers for me!!

These were the other peach glasses,  both of
the glasses belonged to my late Mother in law.

A close up of the cute lil daisies!!
Don't you just love all those lil scrapbooking
embellishments,
you can do all sorts of neat things with them!!

View from one end of the table.

and this view is from the other end!

This is one of the guy placesettings.
I put the napkin and silverware above the plate
for something different, and put there candy
bag in the center of the plate.

Added a candle at each plate for the guys!

I only put one daisy on the guys to try and make
it not quite so fru fruey!!
Impossible!! lol

These tiny lil candleholders came with candles
in them, but once they burned down  you
can't find anything to fit in there,  so tealights
will fit at the top of them, but want go down
any further,  so kept trying to figure out what
I could put in there to add some color,  and
I thought of jelly beans but I didn't have enough,
so finally I remembered I had one pc. of green
tissue paper left , so decided to stuff tissue
paper in the bottom, since it matched with
the candy bags,  so it worked fine!

Here is the completed guys place setting!

These were Easter candles I got last year,  so just
stuck them in another candleholder cause we
need some candlelight even if it is in the daytime!!
Just a nice touch!!

My new bunny bowls from my friend Diane, were
pressed into service to hold some sour cream!

Egg cups for the butter!

I just love these colors I have to say,  they make
my heart sing!!

Hope you enjoyed your visit......
and come back real soon!!

I am linking up to

May the Lord Bless your Day!!

Heart Tips Tuesday - Great Breakfast Idea

Afternoon Sweet Friends,

How is this day treating you so far???

Mine has been good,  but I do have a bit of a headache,
so may have to take some Alleve sinusl soon!!
Otherwise, it is a gloriously sunny warm day in Florida,
and hubby and I have not accomplished a whole lot yet today,
we had a leisurely breakfast and chatted a while, straightened
things up a little and did our devotionals, and as soon as I
finish this post,  I am gonna get busy folding clothes and
cleaning and rearranging my closet.  I was inspired by a
fellow on Nate Burkus show yesterday.  He was a organizer
and  was saying how too much stuff can take over your life,
and eat up time you would rather have for other fun
things..................

I am pretty much organized but it is true how you seem to
keep accumulating more and more things, and at some
point you have to purge some of it.  I think my closet
needs some purging or at least rearranging!!
Decided just to work on it a lil everyday,  moved
some winter stuff over to a different area yesterday,
and washed some clothes......
so will see what happens today.

Well Now,  for the real reason for this post!!
Guess I had best tell you about my great breakfast idea,
that I really enjoy!!  It is a wonderful spring/summer
breakfast food.

I learned this one from weight watchers many years
ago............. It is a great stick to your ribs breakfast.
It has the protein and dairy of cottage cheese, I use
the 1%cottage cheese, then fresh fruit, and then rice
 cereal for a carb.

Even my kids loved this when they were little.

You put about a cup of cottage cheese in the
bowl,  then cut up some fresh strawberries on the top,
as many as you want, sprinkle them with sugar or
sweet in low, and let them sit awhile so they absorb
the sweetness, and if you can eat them without any
sweetner,  that is all the better!!  Doesn't work
for me!!  lol

I really like to do this part the night before cause
the strawberries actually taste much better!!

Once the strawberries are ready,  then just
mix the cottage cheese and strawberries together.

Now just add the dried special K on top,
and commence eating,  as if it were a parfait!
Delicious Breakfast!!
and I am really not a huge cottage cheese fan,
but I do love this!!

Thanks for dropping by,  and hope you
will give this lil parfait a try!!

Always glad to hear from you!!

Love, Hugs
and Special K Blessings.................

Nellie
