HEART TIPS TUESDAY - BLACKBEAN DIP RECIPE & NEW BLOGGER

HELLO SWEET FRIENDS,

HOW ARE YOU TODAY???

I AM FEELING MUCH BETTER THE LAST FEW DAYS,
OFF OF ALL MEDS,  FINALLY AND THANKFULLY.

YESTERDAY WAS QUIET,  BUT ON SUNDAY AFTER
CHURCH,  MY SON AND HIS GIRLFRIEND CAME OVER
FOR A NICE LUNCH, AND WE HAD A NICE VISIT AS ALWAYS.
HE STARTED HIS NEW JOB TODAY,  AND GOES TO NAPLES
FOR A TOMATO GROWERS CONVENTION,  THAT WAY
THEY HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TO INTRODUCE HIM TO
A LOT OF GROWERS THAT WAY.  HE IS SO EXCITED,
AND OF COURSE, WE ARE VERY EXCITED FOR HIM!!

TODAY I THOUGHT, SINCE SOME OF YOU SAID, YOU
WOULD LIKE THE BLACK BEAN DIP RECIPE,
I WOULD SHARE THAT  WITH YOU TODAY!!
CAUSE IT IS DEFINITELY HEART HEALTHY,
AND EASY.

BLACK BEAN DIP

INGREDIENTS

1 CAN OF BLACK BEANS

8-10 SPRIGS OF CILANTRO

1  TBLSP.  OF GRANULATED GARLIC POWDER

3 CAMPARI TOMATOES CUT UP IN CHUNKS
(YOU CAN USE ANY TOMATOES)

1/2 ONION (CUT INTO 3-4 PCS.)

DIRECTIONS

WITH A TABLESPOON, DISH OUT ABOUT 8 SPOONS,
FULL OF BLACK BEANS WITH JUICE FROM CAN,
AND PUT IT INTO A BLENDER, FOOD PROCESSOR
OR MAGIC BULLET,  THEN POUR REST OF THE
BEANS IN A STRAINER AND RINSE.

TO BEANS IN FOOD PROCESSOR OR WHATEVER
APPLIANCE YOU CHOOSE, ADD THE CILANTRO,
GARLIC POWDER, TOMATOES AND CUT ONIONS,
AND THE REST OF THE STRAINED BLACK BEANS.

TURN ON THE FOOD PROCESSOR OR CHOSEN
APPLIANCE AND LET HER RIP, TILL IT HAS A
SMOOTH CONSISTENCY LIKE A DIP.  YOU MIGHT
NEED TO SCRAP THE SIDES A TIME OR TWO.
ONCE IT HAS THE DIP LIKE CONSISTENCY
POUR IN A NICE BOWL OR STORAGE
CONTAINER AND EAT WITH YOUR FAVORITE
TORTILLA CHIPS.  OUR FAVE IS BLUE/FLAXSEED
TORTILLA CHIPS WE PURCHASE AT TARGET.
THEY ARE THE BEST!!

HAPPY SNACKIN!!

  1. HI nellie,

Gosh you are such a good friend and I am sorry I haven't been here in a few days. Life in the fast lane over here. I have tried to get over to all my bloggy friends. I read yours every time but I am always thinking I'll come back to comment so I can stay awhile and chat. Then a couple days go by..argh!

Anyway you have been on my mind and I am glad that you are feeling better. Nothing like getting off the Abs to make your stomach feel better anyway.

Your bean dip sounds great. I'll have to add that to my recipe file. So what exactly is Scott doing in his new job? So happy for him.

I went on Becky's site and loved her shop. She is so cute, isn't she? I tried twice to order something but I couldn't get my State to enter so finally sent her a message and told her what I wanted. I am sure she will get the kinks worked out.

I keeping seeing new posts on Susie's blog about her pets that have passed on. She has had many losses but a lot of love along the way from them. Bless her heart for being such an animal lover.

We had a very bad week within or church congregation (ward) last week. Lots of illnesses diagnosed, a car accident, surgeries gone awry. I was so busy as I am in the Relief Society Presidency (women's organization) and there was much to do. One young married man was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. That is what killed our niece when she was 26. He is 26 also. Another newlywed has foot cancer. The list is lengthy.

I hope people are doing well in your neck of the woods.

    Faith will see us through!

    Love you, Bon

  2. Oh yeah - the recipe! Thanks. And how fun to meet a new blogger...one of my favorite things about blogging! I liked your idea of mailing the cookies surrounded with marshmallows. I did a trial run with this batch to see how they arrive. Might give the marshmallow trick a trial run as well. I'll let you know - I do know that Jordan loves marshmallow so that would be an extra treat:)

  3. Oh, Nellie, I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope that procedure totally takes care of the problem you've been having. I sent you a long email today, so if you don't regularly check your gmail account, I'm just giving you a heads-up.

That recipe sounds really good. I'm always on the lookout for healthy snack recipes. Thank you for sharing.

I will go by and say hello to your friend. I feel very strongly about being a welcoming voice to others. After all, we all were new to blogging once...and someone reached out to us, right?

Anyhow, blessings to you, my dear.

    Love,
    Patti

  5. Hi sweet friend, Love getting caught up but am not sure why you were on med's-thankful you're off of them and praying for health. Loved your recipe and will have to try it. I'm seeing a GI specialist this afternoon about my gallbladder-just hope there is a med that might help so I won't need surgery.
I've missed visiting with you but have been painting again.
    Hugs today.
